Crap, I forgot. I'm self-employed and left a bunch of call backs for Monday on answering machines. Guess it is Tuesday after all.

When you are self-employed, vacations, holidays and unemployment are all pretty much the same.

At what point does the Temperature NOT matter?

I like on the news when they say it's -5º F outside. Oh? Really? Can you tell the difference between that and when it reaches Zero?

I think once it reaches 0º F they should just say "Its Damn cold out"

It's around 40 degrees Celsius where I am in New Zealand right now.
However the sky is dark and cloudy and the humidity is very high. This is not a typical summer

No- fortunately the place is the only thing that seems to poof. I was just left falling to my death while stuff hovered- I had a feather on so was able to recover quickly- I put out a mega to have a place to rez when I returned - I am so pissed though-

Well, I'm not really versed on the whole "global warming" thing, but what I do know is that it deals with a higher average temperature annually; if global warming is true, it would in no way negate the possibility that, out of the whole year, there will be a couple of really, really cold days.

The very NE part of Maine is currently showing a temperature of -20F (-29C) with a current wind chill of -34F (-37C).

Sometimes I think this whole global warming debate misses the point entirely.
The "what global warming?" side of things seems to take the argument as an excuse to continue to royally muck up the planet.
"There is no global warming, so I get to idle my car for half an hour because wearing a wooly hat is just not fashionable."

This is a sad state of affairs when there is every evidence that our behaviour, from pollution to overpopulation, is destroying the planet. Sometimes I wish the catch-all phrase 'global warming' had never been coined so that we can get back to concentrating on solid evidence of humanity's self-centered actions. (i.e. disappearing and mutating species, pollution content in air, soil and water, and YES! weather changes caused by human interaction with the environment.)

Everyone with a fish tank knows that you have to change some of the water regularly to keep things in balance. Humans continue to piss in the tank without wondering where all that is going.

I'd bet shnittshow guy drives a big pickup truck in case he needs to drive his leaf blower to the repair shop next door.

No, no - like I said, I don't know about global warming, but I know that a few really, really cold days out of the year don't say anything for or against it, because it deals with average, annual temperatures rather than daily temperatures.

Yes, I know, but there is just so much hype around that phrase that I enjoy poking fun at it. They should maybe have stuck with Global Change and not put any actual temperature stuff in there.

I don't know that it is possible to evolve without there being some environmental changes. Granted, for the most part, humanity is quite selfish and will probably destroy itself because we don't think far enough down the road, but I think some of it is unavoidable as part of the evolutionary process.
