Suddenly I wonder why I've never seen a Borg ava. One would think some dork out there would have created it.

I've seen em, both in the "7 of 9" version and the pure "resistance is futile" type.

Good almost afternoon, or something all! I am tired, and semi-blind. Broke my glasses and am using an old pair because even tho Ghosty managed to put them back together temporarily they are all askew. Have to get to the eye doctor and have them adjusted so better I wear the old ones instead of having them fall off me and I wind up stepping on them again (actually, I sat on them :eek: )

Spent the weekend working on my new Brennan home. Finally discarded the island tiki house, and went high modern instead. LOVE it. Tons of windows, skylights, etc. Going through inventory trying to find pieces which work has been entertaining - especially when I found the hot pink "lips" chair to put in the entry hall. Very Andy Warhol-ish. Had Ghosty make me some extra stairs because it sits a bit too high on the land down at the oceans edge to have better access and it's now it's more or less done.

And everyone shall be able to get a peak since Ghosty will be throwing a party at his art gallery on 1/23 (Friday). He's been wanting to do something for a while and since he has some new pieces to show he figured it was a good reason to celebrate and invite people over.

No details yet other than the DJ has been hired (same person that was at my Rez party that I shared with Rioko, Damien and Ally). I think he's building a dance platform over the gallery but I'm sure the whole thing will spread out onto the rest of my property.

Anyhoo, try and keep the date open, put it in your calanders. He'll be sending out a notice in the Cartel of course, but I wanted to mention it beforehand :)

OK, the glasses story...just made me laugh.

I wear contact lenses, so I don't wear glasses very much - except first thing in the morning. Well...I broke them some time ago...(read: 8 years ago)

And you know...a glue gun worked wonders! :p

I've got January 23rd set aside for Ghosty's party. Can't wait! :)

Also cannot wait to see your new Brennan home!! My friend Kit has had more than one Brennan home. They are lovely and very well designed. :)

I, would be the worst candidate for contacts. I rub my eyes all the time (occassional allergies which have no rhyme or reason it seems), would forget to put them in, clean them, whatever. I'm sure I'd lose them too. Probably would wind up in the back of my head.

I kind of like glasses anyway. Just wish I wouldn't keep taking them off in places like the bed where I can roll over on them :o

Hehe, instead of a Chicken Run, it would amuse me to see a "Borg Run" :D

23rd....gotcha. I'm looking forward to it. :)

It sounds like its time to train a certain Llama to be the official "Protector of the Glasses"....

He is a very good protector. But, I help him remember things like phone numbers and addresses so it works both ways (this morning, for the life of him he couldn't remember our new phone number, which we've now had for over 2 months :p )

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

No, I'm avoiding the December bank reconciliation. :D

(I swear I just finished November...but, hey, at least we finally closed the old bank so I don't have to track the money across two accounts.)

Yup - i have a picture from there :)

~~~~~~
New Company Policy For the Coming Year:
Dear employees,
Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown
of the economy, Management has decided to implement a scheme to
put workers of 40 years of age and above on early retirement..
This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).
Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to management to be
eligible for the SHAFT scheme (Special Help After Forced
Termination). Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be
reviewed under the SCREW program (Scheme Covering Retired
Early Workers). A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and
SCREWED as many times as Management deems appropriate.
Persons who have been RAPED can only get AIDS (Additional
Income for Dependants & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for
Retired Personnel Early Severance). Obviously persons who
have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further
by Management.
Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as
much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible.
Management has always prided itself on the amount of SHIT
it gives employees. Should you feel that you do not receive
enough SHIT, please bring to the attention of your Supervisor.
They have been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.
Sincerely, The Management
The thing that, by turns, amuses and exasperates me is that our year old accounting software had no reconciliation program like the old system did when we got it. They finally added one a couple of months ago and then told us not to use it until they set up some training sessions. Do you think they've bothered yet? Or even given us any kind of documentation? Nooooo. And it doesn't look particularly intuitive, from the bit of poking around I've done. :rolleyes:
