Good morning everyone!

Hooray, I'm headed to NYC tomorrow! Hopefully I can hook up with Elora and Ghosty during the week! :)

Oryx, Ghosty has said he's leaving us to "girl talk" lol. Send me an email when you get into town and I'll give you my cell phone number/work number whatever. I'm at work tomorrow but like I mentioned I'll make myself available anytime you are free. I'm still thinking about coming in on one of my days off tho, to make it easier for me which would be Thursday or Friday. This way I don't have to worry about train schedules heading home at night back to NJ and maybe I can spend some time in Macys doing some shopping afterwards :p

I tried RP once, but it didn't work out. Nonetheless, I think I understand what you are saying.

I put on my robe and wizard hat.

RP intrigues me. I have never and likely will never go into the RP side of SL. Though in that grid I used to frequent I considered joining Elf Clan and RPing there.

And Gabriele, for me it does not gross me out the stuff about tentacles in SL. It just doesn't turn me on. Rape scenes do not either and you combine that with tentacles and it is like.. um, ok.

RL seeing a youtube link on SLU once with a young Japaneese girl (19 or so) and tentacle stuff just made me go Ewwwww. It did result in tons of joking between me and Arilynn over there though lol.

EDIT to add: Mac is a vampire. He was one back before bloodlines and all that other stuff.. but I never sunk into the role. It is more who he is then how he acts if that makes sense.

Ok.. this one has been stuck on my mind for a couple days.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-VfbX6uBMc

Live version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKyWrzuoCnI&NR=1

Bono played it for Joey Ramone on his death bed and Joey smiled.

Can't get a better nod then that. ;)

It didn't do an awful lot for me either I have to say.

Gabriele started as a human witch in City of Lost Angels (CoLA), was eventually turned and since that time she has been a vampire all over SL too though I don't play in CoLA any longer.

Maybe there is a line. One that does not necessarily need to be a "turn on" for someone to RP a situation.

In other words.. RPing just to RP? Not for a sexual reason in those scenes?

I am having a hard time explaining my thoughts on this.

So.. let's say I play Guild Wars. That is immersible to me. I can escape in that Monk or Ranger and can get into the battle scene.. but that is not fulfilling pent up rage or a need to kill. It just becomes part of a storyline that lasts until my connection drops or I get tired.

I guess I am preaching to the choir.. as you said, you have gone through things simply to propel the storyline.

In other words.. there is a large tentacle themed group of RPers who may not even like it in a turn on fashion.. but are just playing out a story? Though I am sure a fair share of them DO become aroused by it as well. ;)

See.. I am talking in circles here. Sorry.

No, I understand what you are saying quite well I think and yes there certainly are people who role-play to create a story rather than because of any sexual thrill they get from it. The majority of the sex scenes I have done give me a sense of literary achievement in descriptive narrative more than any sense of thrill generally. That goes not just for any perverse tentacle sex but generally. Certainly I have been in role-plays that have been a turn on but they were not the reason for partaking in them.
Of course there are many who do it just for the thrills of having digital sex too and they tend to outnumber the storytellers but there are definitely different motivations for doing it.

And really the point of that was (as anyone who met me in world knows) I am the same person here as I am there.

I have an avatar but when I am talking to someone they are talking to me.. no RP or trying to be what I am not.

Yes, that sex end of it all seems to be the cornerstone for many.

Of course I have gone to some dark RP sims to look around and unfortunately I always find a group of people in some area doing nothing. Just standing around with tough looking AOs.

I am the same here as I am inworld also unless I am playing in a role-playing environment such as CoLA (which I don't really do anymore)
Mostly now it is more me living my life as an alternate vampire version of me - kind of "role-play lite" with some RL cross-over thrown in (though not really too much).

You do get a lot of that, simply because a lot of people are unused to initiating role-play. The experienced role-players who drive things forward and take the initiative to bring the role-play to others are way outnumbered by those who come for the pixel sex and stand around doing not much of anything else.

Ugh, I am going to hate the morning. I slept way too late this morning so am not tired. Now it is midnight and my alarm goes off at 4:45.

Night all.

One thing lead to another...

OK, let's see. I logged in, shortly after Lexxi went to bed, so I missed her tonight. :( I'm sad about that.

I have script stuff to write, but I was feeling a bit tired and generally not up to it.

So I decided to create a couple of groups to reserve my (potential) future store name. Realizing that I need to get another member in there, or they get deleted (and 200L down the drain, AND the names lost forever) I logged on my alt, Hate.

Oh my, Hate has Love's body shape (slightly modified), but damn, what an ugly skin. And freebie hair! This won't do. OK, added to the new groups, so that's that.

Not to mention she's wearing, um, straps. Leather body harness actually. With electrical tape (barely) covering her nipples. OK. Not good. Well, good, if you're into that sort of thing. But anyway...

One good thing: Hate has some nice Broken arm wear and foot wear!

Hey! Lexxi mentioned that ETD is having a big sale, and it's still on. Over I go. Goodbye Noob hair! Picked up a fat pack for 50L, and another pack for 30L. OK, got good hair. 80L. How about that?!?

Reading a sign, it says, skin by "Celestial Studios". Looks OK, so over I hop. Things slowly rez, and ... distracted by cowboy hat. Hair and cowboy hat. WANT. Buy the light blonde hair version (50L), because Love never wears blonde (tried it once, Lexxi about died, never worked up the courage to try again after that).

Nice! I'm a blonde bondage cowgirl!

What sort actual clothes should I buy? OK, now things go a bit left field.

Enter a year old thread, started by yours truly:

/327/eb/238042/1.html

A fascinating read. I miss some of the people who posted there. :(

I ended up at Crave, and bought something, which means I must be a Bimbo now. Or a slut - the thread isn't clear.

Anyway, 300L on the outfit, 200L on two great skins, < 130L on hair. You can do a lot with a little in SL if you look around, it seems.

All this leads to my question: bimbo or not?

I sure hope not! Then again, I never *ever* RP. Nope, not me!

Oh, an good night/mornin, thead! So, guess what I did this weekend? If you guessed "the last days of camp," you'd be right!

Winter camp was fun in spite of the cold and the snow. That jes meant more sledding, skating, an snowball fights! We were s'posed to leave on Saturday, but a freak blizzard kept up there through Sunday afternoon.

Anyway, I can say more with piccies than words, I tink.

the snow comes down! That's our cabins in the distance:

An here I am goofin' around with my friends Abby an Caesey:

Um, uh... how'd that piccie get in there? /me blushes a l'il):

Packin' up to head home:

One last shot from camp:

An that's th' weekend! I hope all ya'll had a super one, too!
