One thing lead to another...

OK, let's see. I logged in, shortly after Lexxi went to bed, so I missed her tonight. :( I'm sad about that.

I have script stuff to write, but I was feeling a bit tired and generally not up to it.

So I decided to create a couple of groups to reserve my (potential) future store name. Realizing that I need to get another member in there, or they get deleted (and 200L down the drain, AND the names lost forever) I logged on my alt, Hate.

Oh my, Hate has Love's body shape (slightly modified), but damn, what an ugly skin. And freebie hair! This won't do. OK, added to the new groups, so that's that.

Not to mention she's wearing, um, straps. Leather body harness actually. With electrical tape (barely) covering her nipples. OK. Not good. Well, good, if you're into that sort of thing. But anyway...

One good thing: Hate has some nice Broken arm wear and foot wear!

Hey! Lexxi mentioned that ETD is having a big sale, and it's still on. Over I go. Goodbye Noob hair! Picked up a fat pack for 50L, and another pack for 30L. OK, got good hair. 80L. How about that?!?

Reading a sign, it says, skin by "Celestial Studios". Looks OK, so over I hop. Things slowly rez, and ... distracted by cowboy hat. Hair and cowboy hat. WANT. Buy the light blonde hair version (50L), because Love never wears blonde (tried it once, Lexxi about died, never worked up the courage to try again after that).

Nice! I'm a blonde bondage cowgirl!

What sort actual clothes should I buy? OK, now things go a bit left field.

A fascinating read. I miss some of the people who posted there. :(

I ended up at Crave, and bought something, which means I must be a Bimbo now. Or a slut - the thread isn't clear.

Anyway, 300L on the outfit, 200L on two great skins, < 130L on hair. You can do a lot with a little in SL if you look around, it seems.

All this leads to my question: bimbo or not?

Nah, bimbo is the way one acts, not a hair colour.

Nicely done av though :)

I sure hope not! Then again, I never *ever* RP. Nope, not me!

Oh, an good night/mornin, thead! So, guess what I did this weekend? If you guessed "the last days of camp," you'd be right!

Winter camp was fun in spite of the cold and the snow. That jes meant more sledding, skating, an snowball fights! We were s'posed to leave on Saturday, but a freak blizzard kept up there through Sunday afternoon.

Anyway, I can say more with piccies than words, I tink.

the snow comes down! That's our cabins in the distance:

An here I am goofin' around with my friends Abby an Caesey:

Um, uh... how'd that piccie get in there? /me blushes a l'il):

Packin' up to head home:

One last shot from camp:

An that's th' weekend! I hope all ya'll had a super one, too!

Mari

awww...bet you were sad to see the end of the week come, Mari.

Great pics! Those two landscape pics (1st and last) are remarkable, and I love the one with your friends on the sled/toboggan.

And just who is the young man, hmmmm? Was that at the end-of-camp dance?

Thank you again for your pics!!!

And Goooood Mooooorning Threadvilllllllle!

So - wasn't in here a lot this weekend but was able to stealth build in SL quite a bit (stealth build=hide in workshop, maintain ultra low socialization and build while looking innocent to the RL straights).

Made two necklaces with a new tool/toy :) and Hera got to play albeit briefly in Damien's garden.

Here is a recipe in my n-box this morning - I love good humus!

Hummus
10 servings

This wonderful bean spread has gained in popularity over the past few years. Our version has all the benefits of a more traditional recipe, but with less olive oil. The combination of garbanzo beans (also called chickpeas), tahini, lemon juice, cumin and garlic is a show-stopper. This is wonderful as a sandwich spread or as a dip with raw vegetables or pita triangles. Keep a batch in your refrigerator all the time and you'll never be without a nutritious snack or lunch.

Ingredients:
1-3/4 cups dried chickpeas (garbanzos)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup sesame tahini
1/4 cup cold water
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
3-4 cloves garlic, mashed
1 tablespoon quality extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions:
1. Soak the chickpeas for 8 hours with the baking soda in cold water to cover.

2. Bring the chickpeas to a boil over high heat, reduce heat, cover, and cook until soft, about 45 minutes. Drain, reserving a bit of the liquid.

3. Make the tahini sauce: Blend in a food processor or blender the tahini, cold water, lemon juice, cumin, and garlic. Measure out 1/2 cup of this sauce for the hummus, saving the rest.

4. Put the drained chickpeas in a food processor and process to a rough purée, adding a little of the cooking liquid if necessary. The mixture should not be totally smooth. Add the tahini sauce and process until just mixed.

5. Scrape the mixture into a bowl. Stir in the olive oil.

6. Serve with pita bread, whole-grain crackers, or carrot sticks.

Nutritional Information:

5 g total fat (1 g sat)
0 mg cholesterol
11 g carbohydrate
4 g protein
3 g fiber
150 mg sodium

Good morning threadland. :D

Holidays are gone...and a real work week has landed...right.on.our.heads. :(

@Love: Bimbo? No...Hate looks anything but bimbo. Look at the eyes...dark, sultry, full of depth. No bimbo has ever had eyes like that. Did I do my math right, you put her together for 630L?!!

@Mari - Aww..what fun! Whatcha gonna do now that camp's over? Wonderful piccies too. The tree in the first...amazing!

@Maureen - Yummy breakfast as always. *hug* But...instant cats?...instant?...no self-respectin' southern dog would use instant cats.

Last night, we took a train ride with Bec and Xerc. What fun. Of course yours truly was so busy trying to figure out how the train worked that he neglected to take any pictures. :o

No worries...here are a few:

(Jerboa is driving the train, and Xerxes and Bec are in the caboose)

(I'm pretty sure we derailed and almost fell into the drink after this pic was taken - but the train had the means to re-right itself, which was pretty cool.)

Thanks Maureen! *hug*

One of the neatest things about that train was the way it self corrected. We did jump the track and start plummeting at one point. The train figured it out, and put us right back to the place we jumped off at, and we were smoothly on our way again. Maureen's car was knocked off to the side...a few meters later the train figured it out and brought her car right back. That was the most impressive bit of error-correction I've seen in my short time in SL.

Well, back to work I go...I sure have enjoyed two solid weeks inworld!

Dallas is cold and rainy and temps are supposed to drop to freezing...please Dog, some snow would be awesome!!

Wedding plans are firmly underway, and we bought a new house yesterday (ok, honestly, it's a mansion) and started moving into it already. If you're familiar with the McLean by Dominion Homes - that's the house.

Kash and I thoroughly enjoyed New Year's Eve, and seeing everyone there! :)

Hard to believe I only popped in here a couple of times in 14 days...lol.

Two little weekend tidbits.

While driving yesterday, I saw 2 bald eagles perched on the ice of a nearby river. That part of the river runs near a walking path, and there must have been 15 people standing there, just watching them, and taking photos.

And...while at Best Buy, I noticed that they now sell the iPhone. I picked it up and played with it for a little while. Pretty neat. Then I looked at the price. $70/month. My first thought.... $70/month! I could almost get a 1/4 sim for that!
