12:03 here in CA! Happy New Year everyone!
I had a great time at the hangout this evening. Everyone there looked gorgeous and the music was perfect. Then I crashed. Then I went over to the Blarney Stone for midnight in rl Dublin then I came back to the hangout.
Then son and grandson came over, we all ate blackeyed peas and Christmas pudding. Then I watched Kung Fu Panda with the kid.

Here's to another year of friendship and fun dear thread-mates.

Dear Threadies,

By this time...practically everyone around the world has rung in the new year (apologies to Alaska, Hawaii, and some Pacific Ocean locales), so...Happy New Year! :)

I owe my SL happiness to the SL threads. The week Maureen started SL, I started a thread, asking where I could find a place to change clothes (/327/77/243685/1.html).

The people of the forum opened wide their arms and told me not only where I could change clothes, but they went out of their way to befriend me and show me the ropes....inviting me to the forum cartel hangout, and an upcoming party.

That very first day, I met Annabelle Babii, Bradley Bracken, Rhaorth Antonelli, Isabeau Imako; Sesual Casanova, Trout Recreant, Elora Lunasea, Teetah Beck, Alice Katayama, Yosef Okelly, Lindal Kidd, Soji Slade, Nika Talai, Ann Launay, Jasmin Loire, and JamesMichael Morane. Some of these folks are still here; others have moved on, or no longer post in the forums.

Regardless of their current status, I want to thank each and every person who posted in my thread that day. My life has changed, for the better, because of that day.

And then...in April...I found this thread...and who'd have believed it would become my home away from home? I've made friends here--good friends. I've laughed...and cried...groaned...shared your good times and your not-so-good times, and you have shared mine, supporting me in ways you'd never believe. My life is a fuller, richer place for knowing you.

So thank you, threadies, for your wit, insight, silliness, concern and good hearts. My 2008 was brighter for knowing you, and I know that 2009 will shine because of you.

Happy New Year! :)

Just wanted to pop into this thread for the new year, so...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! I hope you're all wondering if you'll remember the party hours tomorrow... that's a sure sign of a good night! (Also a good reason to have a camera handy ;))

Here's to a productive, creative year!

It was so good to see everyone at the party last night; I hadn't seen some folks in ages! This year has been full of lots of ups and downs, with some drastically low, and some ecstatically high. Throughout it all, I always knew I could come to the Thread for some laughter, Lolcats, and breakfast, and I swear, it saved my sanity once or twice. My love and most deeply felt affection go out to all of you. You make my Second Life. :)

Good Morning thread survivors. :)

I had such a great time at the hangout party last night! Seeing everyone in world was long overdue, and the lively conversation..wonderful! I can't imagine a better way to usher in 2009. Big giant whiskery jerboa-hugs to everyone.

And an extra hug to Oryx for DJing. Great mix of tunes!

And a special hug to Maureen...who put up with this scruffy looking guy following her around, and stepping on her toes last night.

2009 has gotten off to a perfect start. Here's to keeping the trend going.

Good morning, Happy New Year dear friends!

Feeling very chipper here in NJ, albeit freaking freezing. Had a quiet evening with Ghosty at home. We intended to go out to see a movie but it was SO cold that we looked at each other and mutually agreed that venturing outside was nuts. Watched movies in the (relatively) warm house instead and didn't go overboard on champagne although we did stay up way too late so, a wee bit tired.

Can't wait to see pictures from the party last night!

Maureen, I can't believe you actually remember who you met your first day here. Amazing recall. :)

Speaking of 'remembering" old threads- I was looking to find first posts by those close to me- u know, their intro kind of thing inspired by Mo offering hers. I found mine- it was when I asked about Group Land and how to share it and such. That brought back memories I can tell u! made me look up in m comp what my oldest SL pic was so i will proly upload that and post me thru the years, hehe - anyhoo, while on sd quest- I couldn't figure out how to get past the 200 post ceiling- any suggestions?

MOOOORNING! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hehe. How are those sore heads feeling this morning? ;)

Great party last night. Ladies, you all looked stunning. There was some beautiful frockage going on (and a couple of great drag kings *g*). Music was fab (thanks to the two tune-spinners that spun while we were there) and the conversation was, as always, witty, daft and mostly drunk :D

Sorry we had to pouf so quickly. (Those of you that were there and know why, just to quickly let you know all was well in the end, which is a relief.)

I just want to say thanks, too, to those of you that always manage to take individual shots of everyone present at Forum Cartel events, and post them to the Flickr pool. I know it must be a hell of a job, getting nice pics of everyone either arriving (waiting ages for them to rez) or dancing (waiting ages for a non-silly dance pose) and also remembering or noting down all the names, especially of those who are not regulars to the Hangout. Lexxi and Feline, you did a great job with all those pics. :) (I added a few of my own to the Flickr pool, mainly crowd shots from outside.)

Hah! I only WISH I had such amazing recall. :p Some names I could have come up with; others...no way. I had bookmarked the thread some time ago, so last night (er, ah, earlier this morning) I pulled it up and took a look. I, of course, then got carried away, reading the posts...laughing...and remembering. :)

Elora, I received your lovely PM. Thank you. :) I am so glad you and Ghosty had great time last night, ringing in the New Year together. :)

*sends a big hug and kiss to you and to Ghosty*
