I finally finished the globe hunt and Lemania is having a fab sale on some of her older stuff. I made myself spend an hour cleaning inventory before I could go to the sale. So I am sorting and cleaning inventory, organizing the Lemania stuff to help with not buying something I already have.

Ummmm - I have just shy of 200 of her dresses, and roughly a dozen pairs of shoes and a dozen skins - and that is not counting the 50 boxes from her Grinch Christmas hunt.

Add another 50 dresses/skins/shoes to that count, now that I have unpacked those Grinch boxes.

I will say that the *majority* of it, I either got as a group freebie or as a hunt prize. And most of the rest, I have bought at her various sales, paying probably no more than L$100-150 each. There are very very few that I paid full price on -- her full price probably averages L$350-450.

So we really are not talking huge amounts of money - just huge amounts of inventory.

Okay - add another 65 dresses/skins/shoes cuz I found the folder from the Turkey hunt that I had never unpacked.

National Football League football, yes. Just so all those non-USAians do not start chanting L-I-V-E-R-P-double O-L . . or something like that, when they hear the word (ok read) "football".

G'night an g'mornin, thread!

Well, this week was the start of Camp HardKnock f'r the Winter session, so that kinda dominated a lotta stuf. There's were a couple other things I did too, though.

For one, I managed to get some time on I-World Island for the Winter Festival concert, an also go to get to Phaylen Fairchild's 6th (!) rezday party. I dun often do a lotta dance party events, but these were run an it was great to so 'em with friends an all. Here's a piccie from Phaylen's rez day:

Camp, though, that's seeeerious fun. They only hold them every so often (the last one was in late July) an they fill up super fast. this one was sold out in about 24 hours.

It opened on Saturday right around 4:00 p.m. SLT. Here I am, all packed up and ready to go!

Camp is bigger this year, spanning two sims. There's tons to do, including skiing, skating, ice fishing, snowball fights, an a whole lot more t'do too. An we usually find stuff to do as well.

This is kinda a snowy piccie of camp, showin' the main lake area an the cabins an all.

An here's one of me skiing...

An jes f'r fun, here's one from ice fishing, too. I won two trophies there!

An that's th' weekend! Hope ya'll had fun ones, too!

NFL football! We're not used to post season in San Diego.

Thanks for sharing your weekend, Mari. Great pictures. That camp looks fabulous. Did you read all those books?

Dave Berry is one of my all time favorite comical newspaper columnists. His Year in Review came out on Friday. If you have not read it yet, it is great. Here's the opening bits:

Dave Barry Year in Review: Bailing out of 2008

How weird a year was it?

Here's how weird:

• O.J. actually got convicted of something.

• Gasoline hit $4 a gallon -- and those were the good times.

• On several occasions, Saturday Night Live was funny.

• There were a few days there in October when you could not completely rule out the possibility that the next Treasury Secretary would be Joe the Plumber.

• Finally, and most weirdly, for the first time in history, the voters elected a president who -- despite the skeptics who said such a thing would never happen in the United States -- was neither a Bush NOR a Clinton.

Of course not all the events of 2008 were weird. Some were depressing. The only U.S. industries that had a good year were campaign consultants and foreclosure lawyers. Everybody else got financially whacked. Millions of people started out the year with enough money in their 401(k)'s to think about retiring on, and ended up with maybe enough for a medium Slurpee.

So we can be grateful that 2008 is almost over. But before we leave it behind, let's take a few minutes to look back and see if we can find some small nuggets of amusement. Why not? We paid for it, starting with . . .

And the link to the rest of the article (which gives month-by-month highlights):

Thanks, Lil!! I'd forgotten to look at this article over the weekend. Started my Monday off with a huge laughing fit. :)

I'm ready to start the day. :)

If you have a list over good places, put Cu Mara on it. There's other sims around it, they all belong to Cariwynne Estate (not sure about spelling).

Anyway, you can open your map in Cu Mara and tp around. I think it's 8 sims... my favourites are Cu Mara, Crucible, Qaddryl and Templum Ex Obscurum.

Oooooh, thanks, Marianne!! I've not seen any of those places. :)

Random Fact: Mario, of Super Mario Bros. fame, first appeared in the 1981 arcade game, Donkey Kong. His original name was Jumpman.

From: LittleMe Jewell
So that's where our Jumpman came from - explains much.

LOL, Lil...that's exactly what went through my mind.

:D yay for you. you are very very lucky.

not to ruin your happiness however, but i am still saddened that i did not get that experience. this was the first ever holiday that i did not get to spend with my very most favorite person in the whole wide world, and my heart is still hanging low about it. :( i really need to get over it, however. i'm trying.

I posted that last pic of me in the fab Mrs. Claus gown to the flickr page of the designers group - just cuz I liked the picture and wanted the designer to see it. Apparently, they also are running a flickr photo contest and I won this week -- got two fabulous outfits from Lemania for it. Oh my - and the photo has been put out at her store (huge, at the top of the grand staircase) with my name on it.

Very very neat.

/me does happy dance and thinks maybe these groups all having Flickr contests is not such a bad thing after all.

Wow, Lil, congratulations!! What a wonderful Christmas surprise. :) However, this was well deserved!!! You set up a fabulous picture...the dress is lovely, and only enhanced your beauty.

(and LOL on opening all your hunt boxes. that must have taken FOREVER!! :p)

Hi Mari! I am glad the start of camp went well. The rez day party looks like it was a lot of fun, too!!! (but not as much fun as the skiing and the ice fishing -- congrats! -- I like that guy who's fishing wearing a Christmas stocking hat.)

And....

@Maureen: Thanks for doing the hard work of catching up! I...erm...looked over your shoulder to copy your homework. Was that ok? And yum...breakfast!
