From: Amity Slade Well, someone claimed that people are allowed to have infinite accounts as long as one used a different e-mail per five accounts. Then I cited 2.4 of the TOS, and asked whether registering more accounts using multiple e-mails were possible, if one uses the same exact identifying information for each e-mail. After I asked that question, some people lost interest in the thread. That, to me, answers the question. I guess if LL ever do enforce that by account verification people who are running extra alts by using false details are going to get cheezed off when those accounts are suspended, or perhaps they discover those accounts being unverified can't cross to other grids. One more reason I can't be bothered creating more than the allowed registerered alts And I only really use 3 of the 5 accounts I have anyway.

From: Vittorio Beerbaum You are wrong again, my "sleeping" avatar is part of a roleplay game. Do you ever known why this "game" is called "Second Life"? It's not just build, run your store, and show your fancy new noobz hair. Second Life involves also an emotional sphere and these emotions comes outside of you monitor into your real life. So just knowing that my av is sleeping with my girlfriend (RL) av, gives to you (both me and her) a "positive feel" while you are sleeping in real life. As soon i've ended to teach you the technical matters of Second Life, i will start with the lesson on how human brain works (but on a separate thread please, and in the OT section). One problem with the sleeping RP thing is who do you feel if the other 40 Avatars in the sim do the same thing and you can't get into your home sim because the neighbours are Roleplaying sleeping? Of course if you have your own sim or a sim with few users this isn't a problem. But in some sims you could have 6 campers at one store, 5 trafficbots at another store a club of 6 people dancing, 4 couples sleeping and yourself finding your rezday celebration isn't going to work be cause you last 2 friends can't get in. If you're not at the keyboard, your not really Roleplaying are you? I mean if an avatar wearing a Balacklava jumps in the window roleplaying a burgulary scene are you ready to participate?

Please, learn how to make hyperlinks working here. From: someone YOU CHANGED MY WORDS You wrong again. I did not. Part of your post: From: Colette Meiji I said that Even if I was wrong. my quote: From: someone I was wrong. I did NOT changed any single word. I quoted and evidenced part of the phrase, and i have commented that part. I'm sorry if you got it (again) wrong. From: someone What I did was not to bother addressing some of your arguments. Me too, i were not bothering of your "even if i was...", i've commented the fact that you were wrong. From: someone Even Phil never stooped to that bullshit. Sorry, i don't know Phil.

From: Tegg Bode One problem with the sleeping RP thing is who do you feel if the other 40 Avatars.... Indeed, this is a whole different problem.. and i agree, if you are affecting other ppl accessing you haven't only to not leave your av there, you should not run bots at all, since mainland sim supports only 40av, having just 10 bots would mean reduce the capacity of the sim, so if i want to have a "party" i can't because you are filling up the place with 10 zombies. From: someone If you're not at the keyboard, your not really Roleplaying are you? I am, mentally. It's like sleeping after a good news, you know it's happening, you feel better. From: someone I mean if an avatar wearing a Balacklava jumps in the window roleplaying a burgulary scene are you ready to participate? I don't know, the SIM where i sleep is usually closed to the other residents access.

From: Vittorio Beerbaum Please, learn how to make hyperlinks working here. I'm not sure if this was a plea to our Linden overlords, or a criticism of Strife's greasemonkey script, or a suggestion that Colette use the IMG tags. If it's the IMG tag thing, I for one used to use those (with the trailing "?" in the URL), but apparently for some combination of browser and OS, this generates just a broken picture icon with no link at all, so I usually don't do it anymore.

Sorry, i don't know Phil. For the record then. I did not say I was wrong to you on this subject. If you feel that stooping to slimy, dirty tricks is the appropriate way to deal with someone who disagrees with you - then I feel sorry for you. Go slither off somewhere and log in with yourself.

From: Brenda Connolly but taking that "I am Wrong" quote out of context was a cheap shot. No it wasn't. It was making and demonstrating a point, and it did it very well. The point was that people like Colette, who just argue for the sake of it, don't reply to parts of posts where they have no answers, so they quote selected bits of posts where they think they can score points, and argue with those. Vittorio quoted the entire sentence in a previous post. Cutting it down later was a means of making and demonstrating a point - that's all. As chance would have it, his revised version was exactly right

Sorry it was an obscure Dungeons and Dragons reference GM = GameMaster, and often Gamemasters when the bad guys are loosing badly when they aren't suppossed to they add more opponents somehow, I should have called Orks instead of Trolls, troll being a forum reference too But damnit you weren't suppossed to sleep through, now the bad guys have the data disc when that wasn't supposssed to happen for another 4 pages and I have to completely retwist the plot because you failed a wake up listen check I'll have to try and rebook all the evil mastermind and his entourage of 12, airtickets and accomodation for 4 days earlier, it's cost thousands in earlybird airfare bookings lost. Ow gawd his main 3 henchmen are deep in the jungles of the Amazon on some Crystal skull job, I won't get them back in time, where am I going to find 3 arch nemises on such short notice? Ill have to replace them with 3 random noobs from waterhead............

From: Vittorio Beerbaum Then actually someone noticed it! LOL Oh yes I said in advance that that's what they do - ignore the parts they have no answers for - so it was fun to see you turn it against her after she did it. I've been doing an experiment today. My bots use the thinnest client possible (I wrote it - they log in to a specific location and do nothing else - no sending of any data), but they receive about 3 times as much bandwidth than the viewer does. I'm standing on top of a skybox, 3000m in the sky, and using the RC10 viewer, and I'm receiving around 2kB/second. Each of my bots normally receives around 6kB/second. I have them all in on RC10 viewers right now, and the total they are receiving is about a third of the total they receive when using the ultra thin client. That surprised me.

Interesting, has anyone checked if the rc10 client sends filtering information to SL to limit the amount of data they recieve? that would alow some smart guy to write a low consumtion client rather then a thin client.
