Yeah it's a pretty tough world to try making money in from rentals, 'm not making money myself, but I just use it as a way to budget my spending, I pay my monthly tier, if I don't make the money inworld I don't have it to spend. And i have heaps of prims to play with

Do we really care? ![]() Well, no....but since he was asking questions, thought it was fair enough that I ask him one. ![]() _____________________

At least this one does not require an urban translator. That's a point! _____________________

Yesterday I began selling off the land and storing the build. I only have two buildings left and about 4K of land left. Tonight I should be completely finished.
The land sold for $L3m2 so I lost about $L6m2. Of course now with my bank account flush with Lindens I may start hanging out at the stripper bars. Thanks everyone for your good words and support. "CX" _____________________

Gives CX a *BIG HUG* I know that it cannot be a pleasant time for you. I am sure I am not the only one thinking of you right now.

I have been running my Bourbon St. and Pirates Alley build for three months. At most I have three tenents at one time. With 23 units and the way the rent was set I couldn't break even with the place full. My monthly tier is $75 per month for 1/4 sim. Next month I am tiering down to zero. I plan to rent a skybox somewhere and persue other interests. I have notified the tenents and some were given rent free space until the 16th. I sought the advice of experienced and trusted people and came to the conclusion that I need to look for something else. I didn't expect to set the world on fire. I didn't advertise with classifieds, because I don't see the value. I really didn't need to make a profit. I just liked the idea of business. The pool parties will continue. The last one will be on June 15th at the usual time. I have notified all of my tenents. I gave my day manager a nice severance payment. Thank you everyone for the support and encouragement. "CX" I sold up and rented for a while as you may remember from our conversation a while back. Lovely sim - I'd have bought the land in a flash - but the tenants simply came and went so fast it felt "wrong". I ended up buying a 1/4 sim just for me and my baby - I realise as it is hillside and the land market has gone that I can wave goodbye to that money but in truth with some ebb and flow it's my original investment, pretty much. Sorry that you are in this spot, LL simply will not stop expanding area without giving people real reason to stay here. Maybe now you can at least have some "me" time in SL. Hugs. _____________________

It's a hard decision. I loved the 4096 I had. Great neighbors and landlord, and double prims. But I wasn't there enough to warrant paying for it. And I didn't even bother trying to sell it The tier was due and I just said "No more" and abandoned it. But for several moths before I kept wavering, even put it up a couple of times and then changing my mind.

Oh, CX... this must be a hard day for you. /me hugs you tight.
Hey, watch those stripper bars, though! I'm sure you can find something fun to do without spending your $L on strippers. ![]() _____________________

I'm sorry it didn't work out better, CX. Like so many have expressed in this thread, I know it's got to be hard after all the work you've put into it. Go have some fun, and when you're ready for your next venture, keep having fun.
