From: Tegg Bode teh? Classic troll language from last century, old hat call for attention, didn't bother reading past the first few lines, have better use of my time on earth I can't type for s*it myself but at least I'm random about it. so now I'm teh troll? I am truly getting tired of comments about my typing. Okay my actua history here for all to read/ I type two-fingered now. Whether you believe me or not I had a serious i"event" when I was 21. It was caused by my lifestyle but I have puled through. Now in my late 20s I have small motor problems and nerve damage in the extremities of my finges and the messages being sent to my brain from my hands. It doesnt directly impact my career but my constant shaking hands (tiny movements that I can hide in my reality) means that it appears that I have tremors after a long night of booze. In September of this year I had a seizure. I think this as added to the problem. I have got used to the teh myself and my friends and anyone I communicate with understands teh issue. For complex documents I use a peronal assistant. I dont use any repairs in my threads coz frankly I thought as adults you would realize that it sis a prob for me. I try and remove teh letters I type double but teh teh I just forgeet - its so common, Its not affectation - its illness or the results of illness, I am not asking for sypathy Tegg )or any other of the perfectly alighned and super small motor controllers in this forum) but would you please refrain from commmentaing on it now? Its jus me, I learnt to type when I was six. I guess I am from teh last century then. It is particularly worse when I wake up and before I sleep - teh times I usually use sl. PS if you knew me well (as my partner does in sl) you will notice my typing is getting worse. I am aware of that. Yes. It does concern me But there is not much I can do about what causes it. The micro tremors dont disappear.

Thank you Ashe. You are very kind. And I have told the truth. My lifestyle was truly self-destructive in my teens and I have a legacy from it. In my real I do what I can in speaking (when I can) to teens and young adults about my past addictions and my recovery process, But damage does remain and I doubt it will disappear.

Yes, I remember the past experience you told the other day, I feel miserable for anyone who has suffered in such a way, especially at such a young age. I was one of the lucky ones, I guess. Had wonderful parents and a wonderful childhood. Just keep being strong, both physically and mentally...whatever you believe in will see you through, I have no doubt of that. Be well

From: Alvaro Zapatero If this were a job interview... okay. If this were an english class... I get it. But this is a forum for computer game!!! Do you disregard people who say "cool" instead of "splendid"? Do you think that anybody who speaks with a southern accent is an idiot? Oh... well, I do... but that's NOT the point! What matters is that we understand what a person means, not how they choose to express themselves, especially in an environment as (supposedly) free, artsy and edgy as SL. Wading through a few "tehs" is a small price to pay to share in a conversation. I for one would be very sorry to see Jig give up her quirky speech just to quiet you lot. Aw shewt...there ain't no cause ta be lookin' down yer nose at us gud ole boys. If'n ya 'spect all that high fallutin' hunnert dollar word chit-chat all the time, yer barkin' up th'wrong tree feller. But they's a fair bit 'o difference atween ignorance, honest mistakes, and jest not carin' 'bout how ya present yerself. If y'ain't gonna care 'bout puttin yer best foot forward, why shud ah pay ya any mind?

Hang in there Jig, and fight the good fight. As a serious question...do you have word processor with auto-correct? It might help your typing as you could set it up to correct the key sequences that you really do have a hard time with.

Thanks Ashe. So I shall continue to post and shall (hopefully) make people alert to diffrent ideas. In serious to all of you reading this, keep yourselves "clean" and tell your children that also. If you are (liek me) young then honest honest honest dont do as me. Recovery is not just a comfy rehab centre in a lovely park setting. Recovery is public humility and weeks and months of agony. And its digging far deper into the "self" than any sl troll can make you go.
SL has been kind to me. And so has my partner here. He has shown teh patience of Job to stay with me into the third year. At 64 he never expected to have to deal with my constant questions and my attitudes at times. My questions are NEVER designed to harm or insult but I am concerned for sl and do think this can be valuble as a place on a computer world. Look at my thread not at my typing skills. I ask us to conisder what we are creating. Please stop the abuse of each other and hiding it by calling it "sarcasm" or "pointing to a problem in case you didnt know you had it."

Jig, I've stayed out of this one for good reasons. You already know how I feel. As a couple of others have said, hang in there. Feel free to send me a friendship request inworld if so moved to do so, and I don't say that lightly. I'm not much into hanging out in general there for the most part (and lately, find myself not logging in as much as I used to). I know our time zones are opposite each other, but if you need someone to talk to, feel free to IM me. I think you and I share some interests in common and I do understand where you've been in life, and have no judgements.

From: Arielyn Docherty Helping Pep: The core of the problem! (<--fragment) Most of the quarrels on the forums are caused by people NOT understanding what another means, for all sorts of unchangeable reasons (age, culture, language (you need a comma here, and rethink the idea that language is unchangeable) etc (you need a period here)) so augmenting that with "voluntary" complications, whether they are lexiphanic, lazy or attempts at individual differentiation, (<---reread this series for parallel structure) will inevitably lead to even more misunderstandings. A previous poster said they took time to prevent the meaning of their post from being sullied by errors of spelling and grammar or unclear presentation. Hear! Hear! (NOT "here here" by the way) I also violently agree (violently agree? colorful, but not very clear. Could you please be more specific when playing with the language?) with a previous poster that the way in which someone chooses to express an opinion or argument is an inextricable component of that opinion or argument, and I retain the right to believe that an apparently lazy presentation reflects the incoherence of the thinking processes (so you're assuming more than one process of 'thinking' in each opinion or argument?) underlying the content. Pep (Jerry - Of course I give slack to non-native English speakers - as long as they identify themselves as such; not doing so is lazy too) (Again, a missed period. Pregnant or lazy?) I disagree with all your comments, but they are so inconsequential that I won't bother to refute them in detail. Pep (I am more worried on your behalf that you have misunderstood some of the content, but I refuse to dumb down my posts to satisfy the lowest common denominator)

From: Argent Stonecutter I thought unreadable handwriting was a requirement for that... I can't sign anything without being asked if I'm a doctor. *sigh* Leaving all the grammar drama aside, this is one discussion that has plagued every art history class I have taken. What is pornographic and what is "art?" I finally came to an answer, one that seems to sum up everything I've heard on both sides of the fence and that is: Pornography is in the mind/eye of the beholder. My moral standards wouldn't bat an eye at a guy or girl walking nude in public, but that same moral standards would take issue with a nude guy and girl going at it hot and heavy in public. But one of my friends long ago would have taken issue with the nudity, period. *shrugs* I honestly think that we put waaaayyy too much emphasis on the human body as being sexual and sex as being "disgusting."

From: Argent Stonecutter "Piss Christ" isn't pornography. No, not in my eyes or many others, however, there was that entire crusade against the painting as to whether or not it was or wasn't.

From: Qie Niangao It's true: If I were to pick a typo *not* to make, it would be "teh". The problem is that it just isn't perceived as a typo anymore, especially if it appears multiple times (or worse, every time).
Doesn't everybody use Firefox or Chrome or some browser that shows those dotted red underlines suggesting something may be amiss? Between that and the helpful suggestions of the search box, it's pretty easy to get the typing and spelling mostly correct. I was going to say that I do not see red dots (normally use IE, throwback I am, I know, but am currently on Firefox). Then I saw little red dots under your name. Did you know that you misspelled your name Qie Niangao? Oh, now I misspelled it. Darn. I have, in the past, had advertisements slipped into my computer which causes lines to appear under words. The words become clickable and lead elsewhere. That issue is, I believe, knock on wood, gone now. My eyes still, though, glaze over when I see colored lines under words in a forum.

hmmmmm...
Second Life is a platform, not a game.
Freedom of speech is the most sacrosanct right the US bill of rights establishes, even if that speech (or art) offends someone else.
'Teh' is an affectation, not a typo.
