I'm like Kelli - I hardly ever use my original any more.

Same here, except I still use my original account frequently.

I find that poem both dirty and little depressing...

Yeah, agreed.

I'm not a big fan of Yeats, actually. He was a beautiful poet, but his poetry is sort of fascist and unpleasant. He has this transcendental view of art that I dislike (it has an almost magical power in his view, and I don't like approaches to poetry that see language as more "real" than the reality it is supposed to represent). And he was big on the idea that beauty is born from violence.

I remember in a graduate seminar being told this story about him: he was, when serving in the gov't of the Irish Free State in some capacity or another, brought to meet the Japanese ambassador. (This was a decade or so before WWII, I think). He arrived, apparently, brandishing a sword, and yelling "Conflict! We need more conflict!"

Which, given what the Japanese were up to in China at the time, doesn't strike me as "picturesque" or very funny.

Well, if you enjoyed the feeling, try a little Baudelaire next . . .

Pep ( . . . if you can read French of course; translation does not do him justice.)

You have to be able to read English to understand my posts, Mickey. :p

Pep (Keep practising, I am sure you'll improve. )

there, there, Pep....you'll get over this obsessive need to be understood by me, someday. I know it's unfair of me to keep coming in and poking at your weakness.....but it's hard to resist. Cut down a wee bit on the overly emotional responses.....and it will take away the fun. :)

That has not been rent.

I always thought this was an argument against having premium accounts. (You know, land ownership?)

I will keep that in mind... My own interpretation would be worse than a professional one, I fear... My French is rather pauvre.

Ya know, far be it for me to point this out, but rumour has it that the male genitals have more than one function as well.

(/me barely resists the urge to launch into a noisy diatribe about conventional male myths about female sexual "cleanliness," with references to "churching," male hangups about menstruation, etc., etc. . . .)

What do you expect when the workplace environment is so unappealing . . .

Pep ( . . . situated as it is between the Waterworks and the Sewage Plant. :D )

I know I'm a bit slow, but I was just reading back...

is THAT what that meant? Jeez!

And he got a Nobel Prize! I think Yeats should have taken those field trips, Pep.

OK I gotta google "churching" (I'm a little frightened)... However, I am not frightened of "that time of the month"... at least, as long as there is chocolate in the house :D

Ana Tomy? No, my personal tutor was Rosemary Hill.

Pep (When the teacher asked why I was late I explained I had been on top of Rosemary Hill.)

Yeats wouldn't be an immersionist. Yeats would be making experimental builds that nobody could understand.
