I haven't seen a furry in shoes yet.

Furries look strange in shoes, but I do like my homemade geta :)

Hera is usually barefoot but wears shoes when wearing street clothes. Mostly- though the last pair I sent her- the feet make her feet look backwards... and when she fixed them to look right on her screen, Damien saw them backwards- at that point the shoes came off and she wore a nice spring gown... barefoot :)

I never wore shoes for a long time until I started making sculpty shoes. Except for one time when I was in a brilliantly textured filthy grungy apt above a motorcycle store I think it was? The was a cockroach cycling around on the floor where I was standing chatting to someone I met there as we admired the build. I put shoes on because of that cockroach.

These days I like to wear either the cat foot boots I made or the sculpted feet I recently made, so I am back to barefoot but with sculpted feet. I'll never go back to bare foot with avatar feet, can't bear to look at them.

I recall a kids' group of barefootedness. Don't know if it is still around, though.

Somewhere around here I have a freebie of dirty feet that are on the sock layer. I usually wear them when I am naked below ankles.

I go barefoot with my polynesian look, breech clout and grass anklets. Shoes just don't go with grass anklets. Even my sandals look odd with them...

I use the "barefoot" sock layer that Robin Sojourner has. I should make some withdirty feets, though!

I'm far too vain and SL feet are far too fugly for me to go without some kind of footwear.
Places like a spa, pool, or beach might be the exception to that at times.

When it comes to kids in SL, one thing that irks me is that the vast majority are so clean and dapper. Kids run around barefoot quite a bit, so dirty them up. Ruff-n-tumble, so get the knees and elbows involved. Another thing I have is a chicken pox skin. Why not?

(The chicken pox skin invariably ends up with a rousing game of hide-n-seek. "Why won't anybody play with me?" type stuff. Too funny. Here's an idea, coordinate a chicken pox epidemic amoung a small group of kids that play together and have parents. I can just imagine concerned parents IMing each other and getting in a ruffle. "My kid came home with chicken pox" and "So did mine!" And then being all CDC about it.)

Product idea: poison ivy rash + itch animations.

Want an interesting situation? Walk into a kid clinic looking like a train wreck. Every time I've done this in full jungle-boy-lord-of-the-flies gear all I've gotten is one dinky little band-aid.

Do it, Mari - and the rest of you. Get your feet dirty. You just might like enough to want more dirties.

Sorry for the minor rant and slight de-railment.

I haven't worn shoes in SL in 3 years.

There's even a group for the Shoeless.

Free yourself from the tyranny of shoes!!

and waste all the really beautiful shoes in my inventory? blasphemy! (b/w plaid 'goth' hello kitty creepers? those are bragging rights there.)

seriously though... if it's in character for the moment of course I go barefoot... and even my Furry has some armored boots (that don't get worn much... recognizable 'quest' item)

Now you've all trigger an anecdote.

(consider that fair warning)

One time out of curiosity I tried an original freebie male skin from a lesser-lesser-lesser-known skin designer. Camming all around the head and torso and crotch/buttocks I was astounded at the realism, features and attention to detail. Reminding myslef to go back to the shop as a paying customer I tossed on a pair of trunks with some sunglasses then headed off toward a beachy area to meet some friends, proudly displaying my new bargain find.

A short time later I happened to notice my feet ...

oops.!

*blush*

This otherwise-awesome skin had a total of only three toes on each foot, and they came very nearly up to the ankle.

:)

I have spent a lot of money on shoes. I love shoes. Even at beach-party type events I usually wear sandals. I only go barefoot ... ummm .. in bed.

I only ever wear socks - never shoes - not any more. I stopped wearing shoes ages ago because I got fed up with removing them from my posterior. That problem no longer exists but I never got round to putting shoes on again.

i am usually barefoot, sl and rl.

As am I, for the simple reason that Liz's island, The Commune, is my first and present home. Since 2006, I and my Commune friends have considered ourselves sl hippies (SLippies? ewww); so for that and other reasons I, to this day, welcome new friends to my Happy Hippie Hobbitfoot Home. With all the highfalutin' things I've done since, i still don't have the habit of wearing shoes. Thank you, Liz. :)

You're very welcome : )))

Since stepping (barefoot) into SL in 2003, the commune was the "dream" for me. We will be celebrating it's third birthday party in May, be there or be a pear!!!

It seems that whenever I change my clothes...shoes are the last thing I put on. And more often than not... I get interrupted by the time I get to looking for which shoes to wear. So I end up barefooted more than half the time. People I know are used to it and no one else seems to notice :)

I bought a shape very soon after I started in SL.

It's NoMod.
Perhaps if I had understood the grief of fitting prim skirts satisfactorily and that some shoes needed size 0 feet, I would have looked out for a mod shape.

However, that shape was me and it's going to continue being me.
I'm not going to change me just to fit some particular clothes. I get by within the limitations I'm left with.

I do go through phases of being barefoot, and endure the helpful remarks of friends.

I go barefoot as much as possible in RL. The same for the most part in SL when I am around home. The 2 pairs of shoes I wear in SL the most are a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of bunny slippers.

I learned long ago to ignore my feet so much so I often go out in my bunny slippers not even realizing it :) Seem to remember one time having a pretty sun dress on went to class didnt realize my bunny slippers lol.
