?? He says why two posts above yours .... since Strife's mentioning of his sabbatical was buried in another thread, Ray started this one to be sure folks find out. I do think that Strife's stepping out of his moderator role classifies as "news". He's been doing it for so long.

I saw it after posting. It was an unconvincing explanation. It's a non-event. All Strife does is lock threads and post a copy-pasted set response whether it fits the circumstances or not. Anyone could do that job with 5 spare minutes a day. Res Mods have a responsibility to try to stear stray threads back onto course, only locking it as a last resort - something I have never seen Strife even attempt. This thread was begun for one reason, and one reason only; the OP is a suck-up.

Why would I bother to be a suck-up when Strife is leaving? How does it benefit me, troll?

Your posts are non-events. You don't help people here. There's only one reason why you are here: To be a troll. And you're not even good at that.

Here are some of the lovely ways you have helped the community on the RA forum lately:

Precisely. Which is why when we suspect that someone is underage, we should just keep our big mouths shut and realise it's none of our business.
I'll leave out the personal attack on me because it was too pathetic.

I bow to your superior knowledge and ability, I have not found a way to do a satisfactory job of it in less then an hour a day. Heck I typically spend more than 5 minutes on each post I write, the thought that must be put into what is said so misunderstandings are avoided is immense. But you say you know a way to not just do one thread in 5 minutes but do an entire forum, my hat's off to you. All I can manage to do in 5 minutes is lock a couple threads with boiler plate.

Happy Holidays to everyone :D

Have fun, Conan. :D

And stop whingeing and being a know-it-all, please.

Anyone have Rooibos Chai? They were out of it at the store :(

I have about half a kilo in my cupboard. I'm a coffee person myself, so i never drink it.
You're free to have it all. With my ruined tastebuds, it basically smells nice, but tastes likes hot water anyways.

BTW. Thanx for all the work on the forums.
And I hope the software developing & scripting will create some nifty new stuff. We desp. need more blindwanderer ;)

With all due respect to the op he certainly seems this way. It's not the first time he begins a thread like this one, why? They're both the same indiviual? This seems the logical choice.

I believe looking over the forums isn't an easy job in itself but neither are countless other jobs out there and many require hard labor in itself unlike sitting on a chair working on a computer. But I also haven't really seen the mod complaining nor asking for credit so why constantly bring it up? According to some folks here you would think this was about someone sitting on a mountain top handing out fish, bread and wine. Oh, wait, that was someone else.

Yeah, it's just wrong to show gratitude to somebody who didn't whine and beg for it.

It's... well, it's... downright gracious.

In other news; as everyone is aware, school will be closed for Christmas break as of Friday – we will see you all bright-eyed and ready to get back to work in January. The cafeteria will be open for normal hours on Friday. Students in Mrs. Erickson’s 7th grade math classes should expect a substitute starting on Thursday as Mrs. Erickson will be out on personal leave.

The student choir will perform holiday carols at lunch on Friday and the theatre department will present their final performance of The Little Match Girl on Friday Night, we hope to see you and your parents in attendance.

One final note, we will not be replacing the ornaments that were stolen from the school nurse’s office tree and did not appreciate the obscene snowman made outside of the Principals’ window, we would like to think that children your age would better know how to behave.

Merry Christmas!

Amen to that. Mind boggling just how getting two words round the wrong way can put an entirely different connotation on something sometimes. I strung a single line together after getting home from the pub Saturday night and got myself into real trouble. It took some explaining and a huge box of chocolates to get me out of that mess I can tell you!!

... still feeling a bit queasy after all those chocs mind. :(

I think volunteers need more congratulations on a job well done than people who get paid for their services. As far as I know, moderating the Second Life forums is volunteer work unless it is done by a Linden. Even if you do copy/paste responses and spend 5 minutes of your day closing/moving inappropriate posts...thank you Strife. These forums certainly wouldn't be allowed to thrive if there were no moderator, as they would deteriorate into flame fests, name calling, and fighting. All of the other moderators seem to have abandoned their posts; please be kind to the last person standing. :)
