My Uncle is the most stereotypical English person I know. He is a tea snob, loves all stodgy english food etc. He hates marmite. Thinks it is the worst thing in the world. But as they say, you either love it or you hate it.
Anyway he is really English right?....... ... ... ... ...He loves Vegemite! ![]() _____________________

Tell your uncle this, as he is clearly under the impression they differ in some way. _____________________

A well-deserved break. During the sabbatical, Strife, I hope you have even more fun than ResModding Resident Answers.
(Actually, I'm more worried about Scripting Tips without Strife. Some of those natives have been getting restless lately.) Strife, enjoy! |

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

I think we should all celebrate the fact that it appears this forum is going to remain open with a Linden as ResMod. During the long period where LL turned their back on us, Strife's voluntary efforts here were sufficient to keep RA from getting out of control to the point where they shut it down.
So some threads were locked that maybe could have stayed open (I had several get bolted myself). So some threads that could have been locked were not. Why focus on that when overall a great job was done and we are all still here to talk about it? _____________________

Sally - "crumpet" also refers to an attractive young female that one thinks one would enjoy engaging in sexual intercourse with." If it didn't cause everything I posted in the future to be locked, I'd add that into my sig. hehe. _____________________

would you prefer being called a little cracker? ... I keep getting funny looks from Morgaine when I say I like tarts! errr...Bilbo - That may work in the UK, but you might want to refrain from calling people in the States a "cracker". Not exactly a term of endearment over here. _____________________

It's a funny old world. There's a memorable passage in Douglas Adams' Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy where someone's throwaway comment drifted across space to be picked up by someone who interpreted it as the most vile insult. They generated a fleet of heavily armed space battle cruisers to fly to the speakers planet and destroy all ....... unfortunately they acted before taking into account size differences and the entire battle fleet got swallowed by a small dog. There is a wonderfully gentle satire to Hitch Hikers ![]() _____________________

lol. I'm gonna have to read that. I keep hearing about little things which are hilarious. ![]() Even the history of the making of Hitch Hikers was funny. Architect of the Starship Titanic where I met Morgaine and others. Douglas was just getting into interaction in a virtual world when he was sadly taken from us. I bet he's in-world somewhere, sat by a stream, fishing ![]() _____________________

The trilogy in four parts ... till he wrote a fifth ![]() Even the history of the making of Hitch Hikers was funny. Architect of the Starship Titanic where I met Morgaine and others. Douglas was just getting into interaction in a virtual world when he was sadly taken from us. I bet he's in-world somewhere, sat by a stream, fishing ![]() hehe I've seen the hitchhikers guide film. That was pretty funny. Random, but funny. It must definitely be worth a read. I'll see if i can find it. _____________________

My reason for not locking the thread is that is news (I haven't posted recently about the ad hoc exceptions to the RA rules; news about SL is one of the off-topic exceptions). There will always be malcontents, some you can win over, others you can't; their reasons may be valid or not, blown out of proportion or not. It was my plan to stay on and help Aki until the new year to get a handle on things. Please help with the transition.
I do have an alt that I use on occasion on the forums but I'm probably not going to leave the forums or use the alt. I have been spending more time in Script Tips and writing software. Anyone have Rooibos Chai? They were out of it at the store ![]() _____________________

Funny how Strife has been online a-lockin' only a few hours ago, and yet chosen to leave this complimentary thread going.
