Aki - welcome, and thank you for stepping up to take the reigns, instead of letting LL shut the whole forum down as a final solution.

Thinking back to what this place was like a couple of years ago (and shuddering at the thought), thank you for a job well done Strife! Enjoy your well earned rest.

I must have missed the thread and the original telling/ hearing Strife was taking a sabbitical

You defintely have my respect, Chris. Calling it like it really is seems to be a rare thing in these forums nowadays unlike the commom practice of painting pretty pictures all the time.

Not too long ago I stated the same exact thing regarding this same common practice of leaving threads open that praised them while closing others who spoke about different matters. Both being regarded as non-resident answers material but just one being left untouched.

Like I keep saying, if you're going to call it then be fair and call it down the middle. Call it like it really is and not like you wish it was. This includes everyone.

Think for yourself, state your real views and feelings regardless how unpopular and don't be a follower simply so you can be one of the rest and to be well liked. People like this don't respect themselves so how can anyone really respect them to begin with?

Strife, I'm glad to see you go. No one should put up with the rantings and abuse that you've received in these forums. You took it in the chin again and again and almost always did so in a professional manner. Enjoy your rest, it is well deserved.

Whilst there has been a little inconsistency in the locking of some threads and the extended life of others seemingly more deserving of locks I firmly believe the generally good behaviour that exists here is hugely shaped by such actions. Many threads have deteriorated into nothing more than slagging matches and ego trips. The quality of moderation here is what's stopped Residents Answers and I assume the other linked forums I never visit from descending into the hierarchical bloodbath I had the misfortune to witness elsewhere a few months back.
For this I am indebted to Strife and wish .. them .. a well deserved break. Welcome Aki to the zoo as someone has already put it.

Yum Crumpets they are gorgey. specially with a liccle bit of jam. mmm. one of the best breakfasts I know.
