Can we do the uncomfortable and weird Twilight Zone version instead?

Ponders what the weird and uncomfortable Twilight zone version of Belltown or Pike Place Market in Seattle might be like if it existed in SL....

If I used the space to recreate a city (or cities) I'd do Provincetown RI, Boston and Sante Fe, NM three of my favorite places.

I'd also like to see a interactive build of Mt. Everest complete with base camp, appropriate weather, and 'mid climb' camp that Avi's could actually climb to reach the summit.

But my real bliss would be to do a complete recreation of everything from "Gone With The Wind!" Tara, 12 Oaks Ranch, Alanta before & After the war - all historically accurate. Folks could RP if they wanted to also.

I'd be Scarlett of course. *sigh and swoon - faint*

Pike Place would be a good one. That place is probably already haunted. There are an awful lot of PNW'ers in the forums here, aren't there? Maybe the rain makes us all look for inside stuff to do.

I'd build a dark RP sim.

Very dark.

I'll rent space on it for my shop. Trout Recreant's Flashlight Emporium.

If I could only have one island then I would plump for something different. Perhaps a Lovecraftian island, with a real weather system - dark clouds, thunder and lightning, torrents of rain, fog. The buildings would be overgrown and decaying 19th century US or UK giving a sense of desolation and abandonment but of course it would not be. There would be secret underground passages and wierd time dilation/physics effects (where possible - umm second thought, SL seems to be excellent at that, just need to get time to run backwards sometimes perhaps. Maybe Havok4.1?). I expect there would be rentals there and the covenant would be that you had to live there in keeping with a denizen of such a place. Obviously there would be roleplay there.
Think of a darker, sinister, tentacled lurking horror version of Caledon perhaps.
If it was not truly disturbing then I would consider it a failure.

You know - I really love this idea. If you pick a small town, then build sort of a Main Street USA style build, I wonder if you would get enough interest in it to get people from the town to take some ownership and pride in it.

I'd love to see something like this.

Hey you know, I didn't even think of Main Street. That's a great idea. I wonder if they would pay for something like that. :)

I would build a forrest full with animals, water en nature sounds.
Besides that I will build myself, or buy if I´m too lazy, a tiny cottage that is just big enough for couch or something.

I like the idea of that. Trying to build it as well, but unfortunatly I don´t have a whole island for it xD

You mean "... Pittsburgh N'at". ;)

Actually if I wanted to go into Pittsburghese (which I'm fluent in!) It would be "Da burgn'at" But I didn't want to give people headaches trying to understand me.

A private Island IS a region.

Private Island = Region = SIM = 256x256m = 65, 536sqm.

You can group regions into an Estate. When you buy a private island you are asked for the name of your island, and the estate name. Any islands you buy after that you can choose whether to have them separate or to include them within an existing estate.

If I had a free island I would build The Forbidden City and populate it with the Emperor, his wives and concubines.

The attention to detail would be paramount.

Rock

I would soo like too see that built.. mine would be that or a fantasy stylized verison of that.

Yeah I think Pike Place Market can be creepy especially at night with rats and stuff.
Well Seattle/PNW can be weird place of isolation if that makes any sense in itself for some people.
We do get sunlight but personally I prefer the rain and greyness, I just wish there were more trees.
Lot of places that I remember growing up in PNW are gone, clear cutted and high end track house put up.
I guess if I was going to do a place I want to hang out I do old growth forest from PNW with rocky beach like how Lummi Island shore side looks.

I'd need 4 sims for my dream. I'd build a replica of the Semper Opera on the intersection, crank all 4 of them up to 100 avatars each and have a live performance of Le nozze di Figaro with full cast and orchestra to a packed house! Yay, there I go salivating again. :-)

Picture it:

A jungle
A number of child avs
And one doomed piggie

Have we met? One thing I'm known for is running around as a dirty little jungle boy with a spear and hunting for wild boar.

Things I would build on a sim with no tier?

Waterworld city in one corner, Exxon rig in the far corner, and a bunch of jet skis.

Definitely something Ravenloftish. House of Straad has always been a favorite. Or maybe mix Victorian with Vampire: the Masquarede and do some murder mysteries.

Jack and the Beanstalk on the scale of Greenies. Throw in Willie the Slime Beast and play Hide-n-Eat. "If Willie finds ya, he gets to eat ya."

An outer space build with uber parallax. If you got the room, use it.

Some great idears... I like the chickens, the keg parties, the forests, the four seasons!

Personally I'd like to build a huge art gallery with lots of jazz flute and plenty of cowbell! Or something fun would be a Princess Mononoke or Lord of the Rings, another rebuild of Manhattan or Paris, something real would be cool.

Or a giant brothel with 50 foot tall amazon women!
