Ann found us a darling typing override -- a pair of rabbit hand puppets that appear to be talking to each other when you type. I turned off my typing anim when someone gave me a notecard how, without my asking them to, our talking about it, or my even knowing them really. I figured it was annoying to them so I went ahead and followed instructions and turned the anim off. I kinda miss it now, but mostly it's better without, because sometimes 'typing' doesn't seem to fit the occasion.
It's kinda funny in a big bad RP setting though, when all the scary creatures are standing in a circle and begin furiously...typing. Hee. |

I don't like the typing animation.
I guess just as many folks don't ... as do ... but I find it helps to break my speech ... with a short row of dots ... when I have a good deal to say. That way an attentive interlocutor ... can follow my speech ... clause by clause ... without getting the impression ... that I have stopped talking ... or worse still ... that I am ignoring them. Most importantly, however ... the chance is quite high ... that he ... or she ... will not interrupt ... what I have to say. |
