There are no "must-reads", but I'm extremely likely to read anything from Chosen Few (for fantastic info), Abu Nasu (for great info + tools), Ordinal Malaprop (I just like the style, and usually agree), Desmond Shang ("Big-view" analysis and great viewpoint), and Elanthius Flagstaff (early indicators of economy, "big-picture"
, and a few others. . |

Thread instead of author. The only exception is Clarrisa Lowell, who's posts I can not miss.

Wow, that was a slam. Passive aggressive, but still. It might hurt except that none of it is true. (nana nana) /me takes her weak soul and self doubt and insecurity and cowers in the corner of the browser. LOL Clarissa, that was not intended as a slam. I'm sorry if you took it personally. |

My feelings are terribly hurt and I'd threaten to quit posting forever as a result but none of you lot would care except the ones who'd be quietly rejoicing. *sniffle*
</fake passive aggressive drama queen> ![]() Yeah there are a few folks who, when their forum avatars go whizzing by while I'm in "skim mode", induce me to stop and really read. Too many to list really, and for many different reasons. Gosh what a useless post. Those of you who didn't bother reading made the right call on this one. _____________________

I read all of you out there. I find the level of knowledge here above average and the general atmosphere great.
The trolls and spelling police are sometimes annoying, but I learned to ignore them and not feed them. The only really negative thing about this forum and 'resident answers' specificly: YOU GUYS GOT ME HOOKED ON PIE!!!! ![]() _____________________

I like everybody, even those who rub me the wrong way. (As long as you are rubbing me, I don't complain...)
But I must say I am not satisfied with my posts unless I have trouble counting the number of W's that Scylla puts in her ewww's in response. I do so hate to let people down ![]() _____________________

- aw it's okay. I was having a day. Well, for what it's worth, when I read the statement "They are the type of person who wouldn't view this thread as a popularity contest, and get their feelings hurt, because they have a strong soul....and are quite comfortable with themselves and their opinions," it seemed to me, too, like a put-down. ------------though of course this is all subjective and I'm not claiming knowledge of the author's inner thoughts and intentions, which are unknowable. I'm not trying to stir anything up--just saying that the view of that post that you expressed seemed not-unreasonable to me. I guess it's common on Message Board/Forums for some people to voice reservations about a topic, and then for others to come in and say or imply that there's something wrong with those who have reservations. Seems to happen with all sorts of topics, too. But on the topic of this thread---sure, there are people whose posts I tend to give a more thorough reading, and others I might be more likely to skim. Of the names mentioned most often in this thread, some fall into one category and some into the other, oddly enough. _____________________

Gee, thanks everyone.
I'm here on Thursdays... try the veal!I'm not going to pick favourites myself, though I must confess a fondness for Pep's commentary sometimes. Though I am as apt to hate it as like it, it's always quite a read. I think after perhaps going through another decade and perhaps several bottles of Scotch most rational readers will place me squarely in the same category as Pep. Des: because we no longer speak and I like the odd dose of, "Oh hai!". Oh dear. Well. If we don't speak, it's not on my account. I seem to remember bowing out of an IM rather quickly some time back; but please realise that I am dealing with something like this during 95% of my inworld time: http://www.frontierlinden.com/bad_dream/index4.php I am embarrassed to confess that I can not remember the IM topic *at all*. _____________________

Yeh, I wouldn't worry about the popularity stuff, people are allowed to say they admire others.
There are some people on here who do fine posts, info, opinion and just manner wise, it's a good thing. I've liked Valerius Constantine and Brenski too, I forgot them last post cuz they haven't been around or I haven't. Also Ephraim K is a good poster. _____________________

Y'all know that I read every word (and the non-words as well) typed in here. I even read some of the stuff that gets deleted because the poster thinks again. "Know your enemy!" And the enemy is poor expression of valid information, or sloppy presentation of personal viewpoints, which are never invalid, even if they are wrong.
Having said that, the corollary makes sense: the people I enjoy reading are those that take their time to present their posts so that their interesting thoughts are clearly reflected. You know who these are - and they *never* include those posting as animals or about animals - but the category also includes Jumpy, who must take an inordinate amount of time to make his posts as apparently incoherent as comes naturally to Jig. I particularly treasure the posts of those who don't participate often - and perhaps don't get noticed nor sufficiently appreciated for their succinct insights - but who when they do, make me think, like Laurin Sorbet and Aeslyn Dae to name just a couple. Pep (likes short, to the point posts; this one is too long really. )PS Oh, and I *love* Cato's posts; anyone that makes *me* look sensitive by comparison must have something going for him. ![]() _____________________

Oh fabulous, since everyone reads every utterance of Desmond's at least 5 people will read this. To jog your overburdened memory, it had to do with rezzdays, pants, talcum powder, pique, and erroneous assumptions. (And noooooo, no one was hitting on anyone, good readers ) I am currently out of talc though, sorry. It is in great demand._____________________

I read most posts...purely because somewhere along the line, and it may be a longggg line..I learn something I didnt know. It might be something about a poster themselves or regarding the issue being hashed...but Im pretty spongelike with info.
I miss Phils posts and bantering...I always have to read Des's posts a few times over to get the "gist" and let the imparted pearls sink in ![]() _____________________

In all seriousness though, I tend to read the threads that interest me after looking at the subject line and the short preview you see when you hover over the thread, so the person posting is less important. Certain folks have my more credibility in my opinion when it comes to useful or technical information. Others I find are generally witty and insightful for the most part. I'll also go back to a thread if I notice there is a lot of comments of page views to see what the fuss is about.
