I don't think Lindens care a lot about their sandboxes.
It was probably one of those people that hang around in sandboxes and join police forces or armies to 'keep the sandbox a safe place for everyone'.

The "Save the Hippos" group has finally shown up in search.
http://world.secondlife.com/group/09a5e398-2ca8-582e-4557-bb72152ab654 .. or the shortened version: http://cli.gs/savethehippos Joining isn't as important as voting, but you can get all the hippo goodies in the notices, wear the < SAVE THE HIPPOS! > group tag, and use it to help spread the word. ![]() _____________________

They will eventually be deleted all the same. Or better yet, "Thank you for your inquiry and request. I'll make you a deal and it doesn't involve L$. Please get 240 of your friends to vote for the issue and I'll gladly remove it." _____________________

773. If you get those long lost alts out, let them have some fun. Yes even that alt with the name you said you will never use again, this is a good cause. We really need studmuffin vote!!

Anyone know of any hippo avatars? Any with good animations?
Wasn't there a Linden sponsored contest involving hippos a year or two or three ago? _____________________

Hmm, there's an annual "Hippo Award" given out in 2007 and 2008 by Linden Lab, with some pretty nice prizes for the winners.
If there was a free or low cost hippo avatar then possibly we could have some "Hippo Run" events similar to "Chicken Run" events. -- Edit - just saw Mari's post above. Off to Grendel's . _____________________

Voting is currently at 801. We're definitely closing in our our goal... but slowing a bit. Gotta keep pushin!

Sigh, I couldn't find the hippo avatar at Grendel's, then went off to some other place said to have a free hippo avatar, and SL crashed. I'll probably restart at my home parcel, again.
I did find a free hippo avatar, two actually, one parent hippo and one child hippo, at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Dusun/221/52/28 "Wolph's store", apparently operated by Wolph Thorn . _____________________

If I can work out how to vote I'll try and mobilise my alts. 1. Go to http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-11118 2. Click "Log In" at the upper right, and enter your SL avatars name and password. 3. When the page refreshes and take you back to VWR-1118, click "Vote" in the "operations" sidebar to the left _____________________
