If Soft was quoted correctly he said votes - not votes from unique RL people ;)

In that case, here comes the Puppet Army to cast more votes!

I checked in a couple of me's, and their votes didn't count :/
Really? Several of me are listed among the votes. (I think they all have their own email addresses, though, so maybe that's the difference?)

Yeah, all my alts have the same payment info and email, so I doubt I can do that. :)

All my Puppets share an email address, but we are all listed among the votes. Must be something else. Maybe payment info on file?

Two of mine have the same info, but one doesn't. They all counted.

262 .... where are Phil's trafficbots? They should be voting! Since bots have equal rights on the grid and all, wouldn't that translate into voting rights?

Nice to see that the tracker has lost all meaning even to the Lindens when Soft comes along and openly says that it's okay to post jokey spam on the JIRA and that they not only won't do anything about it but will openly encourage it. I guess that proves how seriously they take the tracker internally at LL and how serious they are about actually using it productively themselves, not to mention how serious they are about helping those of us who actually use it for mature and useful uses use it.

... those of us who actually use it for mature and useful uses....

Pardon me, but the technological portion of Second Life is not the only important part. Living, breathing human beings with a desire for history and community and shared experiences are the reason the grid exists. If as much respect is not given to the human side as is given the machine side I'm afraid the experiment would be doomed to failure.

And it finished the night at 324. Nearly 1/3 of the way there!

Oh, and a :shoulder pet" version of the hippo child is now in the ol box, ripe for the taking.

Yes, Gordon, the JIRA is SERIOUS BUSINESS. It has NOTHING to do with features that are tied in to the lore or history of the environment, just the very SERIOUS technical code-stuff.

This issue alone is raising huge awareness for the JIRA itself, never mind demonstrating the obvious showing of community for a feature that has been with us since beta. A feature that was NEVER intended to be serious, was around long before you or I wandered in, and is reflective of a time when the Lindens and the Residents had a much more happy-go-lucky relationship.

I wasn't here for those days, but I've seen the lore taken out of other online environments and it's a telling sign that things are truly starting to suck upstairs. Instead of fostering the environment this corporate death-knell came from, I'm hoping the attention to the issue will cause some Lindens to wake up a little and consider what's happened when meaningful - MEANINGFUL - features are removed from the viewer for no other reason than that they aren't technically-oriented.

Go buy yourself a milkshake or something.

edit: 349! w00t

Gordon, can you suggest where else we could express our desire to have this "historical" feature retained and expect some sort of Linden reaction? I'm pretty sure the rest of us are stumped, since LL has shut down every other form of communication...

But my husband voted for it with his main and alt. Err, well, I voted for him, but still, I think he'd love to save the Hippos!
