Anyone else think Soft said 1,000 because he thought it was an impossible number?

*grins* If he wanted to make it impossible, he'd have set a deadline. From what I read, he didn't.

He pretty much said that if it reached 1000, he's submit it that very day.

It's not as impossible as you think.

The Second Life Service - SVC JIRA has an issue that has 1430 votes; "More than 25 groups!" which was opened in '07.

The Second Life Misc - MISC JIRA has another issue "OpenSpace Sim Prices SHOULD NOT Be Going Up! VOTE To Stop This ridiculous increase!" which has 4113 votes and was opened in October '08!

Granted, very few issues on the entire JIRA (across all projects) have 1000+ votes... I think there are 4 in total. So I'm sure Soft knows 1000 votes is by no means impossible, just not likely to happen overnight.

The highest voted issue on the VWR JIRA only has 631. We're gaining ground!

Not at all. In fact, he's one of the voters. :) 1,000 is realistic and shows the community is serious about having the feature. Totally doable.

THis one was pushed in the store and shopping groups via notices. Amar has the right idea!

Mari put a shoulder pet hippo in the freebie box, which makes it well-suited to the shopping groups and freebie blogs. I won't be inworld today, so can't act on this, but someone should!

I guess i've missed something on SL all those years...

What hippo's? and why is it so important? Can someone explain it clearly to me? (e.g. with examples if needed)

Cos i read about hippo's often here on the forum, and inworld too (and some blogs) but nobody writes/explains about what the fuzz is all about in the first place... ;)

i've never stumbled into a hippo object (shaped like one), if that's what's it about.. (still doesn't explain the important element of it though)
