Hey, I did that just last night, sank beneath some floorboards, in a freebie place, all unintentionally. Can be quite interesting, what all is down there. And, I'd already bought my dress to attend your wedding, but seem to remember something about Caledon throwing up some ban lines for the event, and not wanting to be hanging in the air outside, or caught in the banlines, I decided perhaps I shouldn't go. Still have the dress though........ :p

Ban Lines in Caledon!? Heaven forfend, we'd certainly not do that!

We estate ban scoundrels right proper! Can't have riff~raff scuttling around and shouting obscenities from the rosebushes, it spoils the ambiance...

But I'd never do that to you. In fact Treasure I'd be quite comfy if you had estate rights yourself. That way you could freeze the pair of them in place. And we could photoshop Scylla in the audience later, such that she would appear in a soft, feminine Regency dress delightedly reading a bit of Austen before the ceremony (would that be so wrong?) grins...

I'm still up for hosting, if anyone's crazy enough. Though lately we've had more *real* marriages than virtual ones in Caledon... I swear, there's something in the water...

As already pointed out:

Pep (The use of ignore makes you look even sillier.)

As I already pointed out, you're an ass. But even I didn't think you were so stupid as not to realize that I was not pointing out my error, but acknowledging that others had done so.

Scuttle back under your rock now.

Well, I'm up for anything . . . or almost almost anything . . . once.

Something like this, Laurin? In sage, perhaps? :)

Right. The Aeb "Of course I knew that" defence. And thus your incompetence spreads misapprehension and confusion among even those who bother to read the posts of others before they set their fingers typing, not bothering to involve their brains, following the lead of their forum "mentors".

Pep (Do you find it increasingly difficult to remember at the end of the sentence what you intended to type at the start; I don't.)

Octavian, as with others like him, was effectively a slave until his father died.

Pep (That's how it worked.)

Except Octavian's adoption was only revealed in Caesar's will after his death, and thus the normal patria potestas wouldn't have applied to Octavian.

I want to have a family in SL and be adopted but I have no desire to be a child Avi at all. Is there anywhere I can go to get adopted ad an adult or is there no way of doing that and I HAVE to be a child? The idea of being a child myself creeps me out but I like other child avi's. I'd prefer to be adopted as an adult.

While I do not know of any adoption agencies that handle adult adoptions, I do know that many strong friendships in SL become "family." Consider those you become closest to in SL.

Absolutely not. And I am thinking my title might be, intrepid explorer that I am, Queen of the Iceni. I think she had 2 daughters, too ;)

By the look of that maternity dress, once was obviously enough.

Pep (Sage? Anything but white I would have thought.)

Ummm . . .

Can we have chats about this? That particular story doesn't end . . . or begin, for that matter . . . very well. Especially not for the daughters. :(

(Jig: if Mum offers you a drink, politely decline . . . )

If, sir, you are implying that my relations with the male of the species have been anything other than pure and chaste, you . . . um . . .

(I'll get back to you as soon as I've consulted with my lawyers on this . . . :o )

We will start from before the flogging and other unmentionables, and rewrite from there. If I have told you once, I have told you twice, it is all about the attitude. ;)

I hope so. Especially Titular consolations. Otherwise that smelling salt bill is going to add up. :p

Pep (Nor Octavian?)

It was a posthumous adoption. Clearly Caesar knew what he wrote in his will, but Octavian only learned of the will's contents after Caesar's death when the will was read.
