Might sound weird... Adult Adoption

I want to have a family in SL and be adopted but I have no desire to be a child Avi at all. Is there anywhere I can go to get adopted ad an adult or is there no way of doing that and I HAVE to be a child? The idea of being a child myself creeps me out but I like other child avi's. I'd prefer to be adopted as an adult.

Oh, come on! There are any number of profiles I read that bang on at length about "my family" (generally threatening post-BDSM attentions if you suggest that their gesture spamming indicates a less than mature outlook on life) with no indication whatsoever regarding the actual relationships ("sis" and "bro" seem the most prevalent) so I am sure that if you hang around somewhere adult (four letter words seem essential discourse adornment in that sort of extended family environment) and spout txt based semi-comprehensible gestures and annoying noises, then I am sure someone will offer you a position in their community hierarchy.

Alternatively you could check to see if there is a Group based on your surname, which sometimes offers looser, but committed social ties.

Pep (or if you are really desperate you could try to finagle your way in to the Jig/Jig's Assistant/Scylla/Laurin/Unadmitted-progeny-of-Des cabal.)

Wow, how quick to judge you are. I have no interest in anything sexual related in SL (SHUDDERS) I'm not here for that. And I have no clue how you came to any of your conclusions based on what I wrote.

I happen to have seen lots of adults having a mother and father in SL the point of the post is for me to find out how and if they were a child avvie when adopted.

It shows how sick and sexual minded some people are on here.

Perhaps you should hold a mirror up to yourself to check on who has the dirty mind? Read my post again: there is *nothing at all* sexual in it! My conclusions were based on recurrent observations of "families" of adults inworld. Just because you don't like the message don't criticise the messenger.

Erm, Roberta, you can certainly be adopted as formally or informally as you like without ever being a child av. I'm about as maternal as a komodo dragon, yet have 2 adult daughters and apparently a granddaughter that I am half terrified to inquire too thoroughly about, as her mother is a bit of a hellion and she may be following in her footsteps.

Like any good relationship, they tend to crop up when you least expect it and aren't looking.

Thank you Laurin, thats the first most nos\rmal answer I haveseen. I've got a few very close friend and i'm building more each day so i suppose it's only a matter of time

Thanks Talon, I certainly will. I have a feeling I know why people don't ask. Some people seem to assume being in a "family" is something out of a ganster movie. It shows they're not worth wasting my breath on anymore.

Are you joking? You called the wedding off in the forum, when some of the details of my past dalliances were dredged to light. You have no idea the crushing humiliation for such a shy and private soul as myself. That I have managed to recover is nothing short of a miracle, and I may well have flung myself from the castle walls had my sim-mate not shown up just in time. And poor Scylla, to learn of her origins in such s startling fashion, the whole ordeal was completely unacceptable!

It's a wonder the whole sordid affair didn't give poor Desmond a stroke. After all that, even he wasn't able to successfully marry me off to a Caledonian cuckold. On the bright side, I may yet get a title out of the whole mess, to sooth my battered spirit.

You know...I imagine you have already done a group search, but another idea is you may want to shoot off an IM inworld to Clarissa Lowell. She has some sort of social networking group which helps organize platonic companions for attending events/activities. This doesn't really fit the bill, but she may have a suggestion.
