Most of the Nekos have horse tails?

Not cat tails. Not fox tails. They're horse tails.

Maybe because of the same reason some guys have horse sized "tails" too? :p

Just yesterday we went shopping for neko tails and sure enough that’s all we found were loads of big fluffy tails and no regular cat tails. Not sure if it’s a trend or what, but I prefer the slim cat like tail.
Ameno makes a really good tail but no longer carries them in her shop.
She sent me this link and there you will find the kind of neko tails I think you are referring to.

I have no idea what you are talking about. My tail is as fluffy as the fluffy tail of every kitty I've known but two. Those two, though, were short hair kitties. The others were long-hair. I'm a long hair kitty. My tail is not a whip like a short hair kitty, it is a fluffy furry wiggling tail of joy, like long hair kitties.

This tail that you have linked to is a short hair kitties tail. https://xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&MerchantID=157935&page=6[/QUOTE]

I wondered about that too, especially since you can use the nice tail from Uchi's cat avatar for free, by picking up the Felis Cat avatar on the platform in Curious.

I suspect the availability of horse tails for Ponygirls might have something to do with it.

It's kind of weird, when I was looking for a flexi tail for a horse avatar a couple years or so all I could find was fox tails. Had to make my own tail.

Edit: I know fluffy cat tails aren't horse tails, I'm talking about the nekos I see with what are definitely horse tails, even including a dressage wrap.

My tail is not a horse tail! It is a long hair kitty tail. Have none of you seen a long hair kitty?

Those are all short hair kitties! Except maybe the white one. If the white one has been shaved. And even then, do you see how fluffy that white tail is? And that pales in comparison with a long hair kitty tail.

Ok, here:

long hair kitty (actually medium hair) and short hair kitty.

Not all kitty tails are whips!

Ooh, I haven't seen one of those in a long time. I wonder if they disappeared because people were making fun of them.

Good question about the horse tail. Even long-haired cats have tails with longish hair growing along the entire length of the tail, not originating close to the butt, like a horse's tail. I've had long haired cat and I can vouch for this :)
Since cats use their tails for balance and communication, long hair like that worn by nekos would just drag on the floor.

However, let's not forget: my world, my imagination. I've seen glowing neko tails, particle ones, green ones, decorated ones, pierced (?) ones and even talking ones. So why not horsey ones :)

I've wondered this, especially when at one point my pony av was mistaken for a neko. Hooves and a mane, people! I've even seen a store with pony and neko tails on neighbouring (neigh-bouring?) vendors. Apart from some bandaging at the base of the equine tail, the two looked identical.

Fixed? How does that even make sense? I'm showing a picture of kitties, long haired (actually medium) and short. And you replace it with horses?

The title of the picture was "Steampunk Neko".

Horsetails are more flamboyant. Folks like to show off. They're also easier to animate: realistic cat's tail motion must be a headache to script.

She doesn't really look very Steampunk either.

Brann pointed out the difference in where the hairs attach and I imagine this plays a large role in what gets created. A true kitty tail will take more work because the hairs attach all along the tail rather than all in pretty much one spot like the horse's tail.

Well sometimes it might depend on the lineage...

I suspect a lot of neko's don't have breeder's papers, and are just love kitten byproducts of some star~crossed moment in a back alley somewhere.

Memories... all alone in the mooooonlight...

You really need to be careful about statements like this. I could see Ann using this as further proof in her lawsuit.

If done right, making proper kitty tails, whether fluffy or not, would not be easy.
