ETA: Sorry, did I say that "me are mostly morons"? Slip of the tongue. When I get a chance, I'll come back and edit this post to fix that. Honest . . .

No need to edit. Sounds pretty accurate.

It's very common for transvestites to dress in an exaggerated fashion in RL. Why would they stop when they are in SL, with access to all the fabulous and stripperiffic outfits on sale here?

In the same way, I know plenty of RL women who are fascinated by glamorous costumes. There's a huge burlesque revival, the cosplay phenomenon, Renaissance Fairs/LRP and outrageous clubwear. For a lot of people, SL is like RL with the brakes off.

You get stunning costumes for a couple of dollars, and the right body to do them justice. It doesn't matter if you're old and wrinkly, the wrong shape, or the wrong gender. And hey, you can wear these off-the-wall outfits *all the time*. Somehow I don't think this is just a guy-in-drag thing.

Must get myself going for the day, but one point I wanna make (yes I am going to be just the same in a roundtable discussion in real today) is how I wish that MEN would be better "women" when they have sex. I overhear the most outrageous comments that really put me off my rhythm: "Make me moan with that python of a breadbox" is either badly translated Japanese or beyond the realm of any reality OR virtuality I have encountered. Even "Disco-Stick" is more down-to-earth
If it comes to that, men AS men are equally disengaging. Many is the time I have read the unsexiest commentaries one can imagine as my avi is being pawed by a man: "Feel my c@ck slamming your cervix, c#m-bucket" does not encourage me to multi-orgasm. And I must say I have NEVER had a bf say that in real or anything remotely like it - so why do they do it in sl????

Cause SL helps disinhibit those repressed dirty, dirty sexual urges, that's why.

They don't say it in RL because you can feel it.

At least they like to believe you can.

Also, can men please repress that urge they seem to have to send REAL pictures of their c*cks. Many of them look like really old frankfurters that were left behind in the beachhouse last summer. Or like those worms that you see in caves that never see the light of day. I am seriously considering opening a REAL tanning salon for men who want "bronzed" genitals. They look so pale and unfortunate, with generations of malnutrition behind them.

A big part of dressing-up for many trannies is the camp thing, which is all about going deliberately over-the-top and out-doing whatever female ikons catch their imagination. Mind you, I have known one or two in my time who made a point of dressing like their grannies - going the whole hog with twin sets 'n' pearls, rinsed perms and whatever. I don't know what that's about at all. Rather, I don't like to think.

As for the guys who just get it totally wrong. Well they're crap at it aren't they? They're hormones are short-circuiting any scrap of aesthetic or common sense they may have about women in the first place.

I'm working on a female alt these days, which I need for work but I guess I'll get around to taking her out for a fling sometime. Fact is I could knock a pretty good male avatar together in an afternoon now because I've done so many. This gal is proving to be hard work for me though. Being a bit of a stickler for detail, I can't just knock something together with a fine ass and good bazoombas. It's a whole new set of sliders getting her to look 'believable'.

While we're on the subject, would you say 35 is reasonable buoyancy for a middling sized pair of knockers? I don't want her floating off first time she steps outside.

LOLz... Jig, you gonna make me injure myself.

As I told my new girl, she don't gotta worry about that cause I'm not gonna force her to look at my c*ck until she buys me dinner and a movie first.

I find that a lot of women in SL surprised me at what they say and want, during sex.

If only I'd know, decades ago!

Seriously, I realize that many of the "women" in SL are RL men. But the above statement is true if I only consider those avatars who I know without any doubt to be RL women.

What I mean to say is that while Jig has a point, it's not exclusive to men playing women avatars. Any one of her examples, with perhaps an exception for the lovely lightning bolt metahpor, could just as easily be committed by an RL woman.

Jig, you are confirming that your taste is extremely dubious; do you discriminate at all in the selection of those with whom you split the kipper?

While these are amusing observations (LOL re the OP), since SL is about diversity and respecting what everyone pursues, I don't understand why threads continue to ridicule or put down people for trying something different. It's a little hipocritical don't you think?

Before sounding off about this why don't you see if you can find some statistics that might contradict a claim that females in the real world account for 95% of all cosmetic surgery, attempting to give themselves all the characteristics that you have condemned men for abrogating in sl . . .

Pep ( . . when they don't have to pay for it!)
"Abrogate" means "set aside" or "put a stop to", which doesn't make sense in this context.

Well, I suppose it is JUST possible that there are people out there who find the notion of slamming my cervix a turn-on . . . although why they should think that this would do anything for ME is a mystery. It just makes me think of the stirrups. NOT a turn on.

But surely the real problem is the poverty of imagination and writing skills? Seems to me that the most sought-after men and women I know tend to be the articulate and witty ones. If you're going to cyber with Harold Robbins, then you shouldn't be surprised to get language like this.

You know its odd...

The 2 family members I have that crossdress (notice I did not say drag queen there is difference) truly do not go to any lengths to hide the fact that they are men.

Paul has been known to wear the most outlandish of female fashion but does not change anything else in his appearance...the beard an moustache stay. Same as he does in RL. He just like womens clothing.

Shane is naturally RL a bit more androgynous looking so when he does the crossdress thing he MIGHT fool someone purely on appearance but in mannerisms he is pure man with the very basso voice to match.

Mind you another (female) member of the family has the following to say about crossdressing"

"I will never understand why some men go to insane lengths to get into womens clothing, hose and lingerie when women spen most of thier lives trying to avoid bras and pantyhose!"
