Morning Forum Folk,
As an SL person who still has his baby teeth, I have a few questions connected to the above:
a) Do you all try and arrange to get together for a Forum Christmas knees up? b) If so, would it be at the Hangout? c) Have such things been tried in the past and are they a success? d) What date would we do such a thing? e) Will anybody be in SL on Christmas Day? f) Why does the duck billed platypus lay eggs?
It is Friday isnt it?
Sandy

Maybe you need to check your platypus facts, oh wise friend. Maybe I read your answer wrong. Maybe there'll be snow this Christmas time

We've only had one holiday event so far and that was Halloween. It is no exaggeration to say it was a HUGE success.
I think a party is a good idea, and while I usually hate being pc, I do think since SL is a global community that it should be a "Holiday Party".
You want to plan it?

Mornin´ Sandy a) Do you all try and arrange to get together for a Forum Christmas knees up? teh Cartel ain´t old enough yet, but there was talk of a festivity in that period. Not a Christmas thingy but something going by another name, which escapes me right now. b) If so, would it be at the Hangout? You think? c) Have such things been tried in the past and are they a success? see above d) What date would we do such a thing? no idea e) Will anybody be in SL on Christmas Day? I´m sure somebody will be..... interesting question actually. f) Why does the duck billed platypus lay eggs? because it can? or can't it? It is Friday isnt it? /me sends Sandy a new calender

Maybe there'll be snow this Christmas time OK .. ok .. you get more time on your hands than I do and spend it more educationally At least I remembered it's a mammal. Snow might warm the place up a bit - the rain butt was frozen solid last night .... and no sniggering! .. the butt in question is in fact a bucket.

From: Sally Silvera f) Why does the duck billed platypus lay eggs? because it can? or can't it? Morning Sally, The platypus is the only mammal that lays eggs. Wierd. I never would have thought the forum gang was less than a year old, you all give off a mature air that creates an impression of *years* of existence. And you're right, we should call it a Holiday Party. Not everybody thinks the baby jesus was 'all that' or something. Sandy tackles religion - DONE

lol Sandy tactful as always lol. I think someone mentioned a knees up in the Have you visited the forum cartel hangout? thread /327/3a/224375/4.htmlI like the idea. It would be great fun. The duck-billed platypus can lay eggs because it is a monotreme http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotreme/me sits straighter - pround that i actually knew that I prefer to can it Christmahanakwanzayuledan. It seems to get most of it in there

It seems to get most of it in there I'm actually a fully paid up member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea and I'm disappointed you left me out (If there are any members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea reading this thread, I assure you that I am not poking fun at your beliefs and merely selected your faith as the most obscure one I could find on Wikipedia - it actually has over 1,000,000 followers - FACT) Sandy tackles the lesser known faiths - DONE

feel free to adapt it to your needs. I however can't really say much more in one word so what about if I said Christmahanakwanzayuledan or whatever your faith is even if you believe in the flying spaghetti monster or the invisible pink unicorn party? Better? no thought not lol. lets stick to Bradleys holiday party idea.
/me frowns at being proved wrong then cheers up again at the prospect of a party!

It *could* suggest clique, an image we desperately strive to fight ..... soooo, thankyou for the compliment Snady ... but everyone else, especially lurkers, newbies and all ships at sea .. please ignore him But seriously, I actually had this very argument with Morgaine just two nights ago. There seems to be some unwritten, unchartered barrier perceived at the edge of the cartel group. We're nothing special. We're *all* special!

I slipped through the 'barrier' easily enough and I didn't even notice there was anything there. I kinda just fell into the cartel/group thing. I have a ham I can bring if you want one Conan. I havn't unpacked it yet but I'm sure it will be fine stick a bit of salt on it and you will never know how old it is lol. I like that spinning mistletoe ball kelly.

Do you know what I can't stand .......
..... people who refer to the turkey as 'the bird' in the run up to Christmas!
"Yeah I've got to go to the butchers to get the bird and then thats everything I think. Apart from bits, you know"
Ruins Christmas for me.
