The grid-wide snowball fight is the 21st of December in the year of our lord 2007, so that day shouldn't be used for the Dies Natalis Solis Invicti celebration. How about saturday Dec 22 all day for the SRMO (good name, Bodhi!)? I know weekends suck for some, but since the vast majority of us work Monday-Friday, Saturday is easiest. Sandy and Bilbo are in charge? Kewl! Disney is this coming saturday Dec 15. _____________________

All this talk of cliques is frankly ridiculous.
I was talking with Chris and Brenda about this, in our smoke-filled secret room above the clubhouse. Anyone can hangout at the hangout. All we insist upon, is that you are; Beautiful/Handsome, Very Intelligent, are a Huge SL Celebrity, Very Rich, have excellent grammar and deportment, That your sluttiness/matching has been rated by an appointed official, and that you are just generally People-Like-Us. Naturally, we also require at least 3 references, one of which must be supplied by a Linden. The waiting list to join is now a year long, so dont be disappointed, if we dont get back to you within 6 months. A small deposit of prim gold must be submitted along with your application, or for those without sufficient funds, we will accept instead your 1st born as a hostage. So, again let me emphatically state, we are not a clique. We are simply trying to keep the riff-raff out. ![]() |

This all seems quite reasonable to me. It's an interesting paradox that in order to create a place where anyone can hang out, it is necessary to keep out the riff-raff. I can see how this may appear paradoxical, but our definition of "Anybody", does not include the Riff-Raff. It is a well known fact that SL includes some of the riffiest-raff to be found on the Internet. I am sure you and any right thinking Avatar would agree, we should not extend the magnificent gift of our fellowship to such as these. The gentle promptings of Chris and Brenda forbade my suggestion of Mass Murder as a means of cleaning up the grid. I remain unconvinced, but still like to smile about our our disagreement in the most amiable fashion. As you can see, we are not as bad as we are painted. ( Hmmm should that be rendered instead of painted ? ) |

At the Forum Cartel, we pride ourselves on the fact that we exclude nobody. _____________________

At the Forum Cartel, we pride ourselves on the fact that we exclude nobody. Stated with admirable clarity. After all who would want to hang out with a bunch of nobodies ? Those Victorian Sims in Caledon have it right, anyone found typing "u" for you and suchlike are sent to the workhouse, and any Avatars discovered to be underage are used as Chimney sweeps apprentices till they reach their majority. (At least I imagine that is what they do. I have yet to visit them. But they seem to have a reputation for Historical accuracy ) |

I'll try to make it to a christmas party, if we have one. I'll try to make it to a plain old party, if we have one of those. I will even go to a Holidays party if it is not thrown to displace or replace a Christmas party.
I will not go to a ChristmaskwanzaafestivuswhateverelseittakestomakeitnotbeaChristmasparty. My apologies for getting all serious and all, I really don't want my Christmas season messed up by Politically Correct prejudice against having Christmas. It's not in keeping with the season. I'm with you, Sandy. |

I'm with you, Sandy. Me neither. I do, however, object to my hard-earned taxes being used to pay for indulging people's foolish primitive superstitions - and so applaud councils and government agencies that refuse to have nativities etc on their property. Either way, though, I'm happy so long as there is ham. _____________________

I don't care what kind of party this is on Saturday, what you want to call it, who shows up. It's a party, enough said, they are always fun, and I will try my best to be there. Weekends are tough for me, but I'm hoping this one, might just work for me
I have even found a costume!/me waits patiently under the mistletoe, on tippy toes, for Chris ![]() Oh and has anyone figured out when the "not a Christmas" party will be held? Please, oh please not the weekend before Christmas! Let it be a weekday! _____________________

Egg nog. I'ts not a Christmas party without egg nog. Let there be nog, fortified and enhanced in the aromatic double embrace of 150 overproof Demerara rum and a hint of nutmeg.......
Anyone thought of a gathering on the 21st as well? BTW, it's still Thursday here, and will remain so for the next three 1/2 hours or so..... |

O.M.G...........! you poor deprived puppy.......Well, milk, egg yolks, spices.......the important part is the rum......whisky will work in a pinch, and vodka only if you're truly desperate....... O.M.G...........! you poor deprived puppy.......I've heard of it on American tv, but it just seemed that a drink containing eggs couldn't possibly be a good thing. _____________________

Eggnog is about as American as Simon Cowell or Paul Hogan.
. I believe it's a British invention that we Canadians knock back like it was water at this time of year.... |

I believe it's a British invention that we Canadians knock back like it was water at this time of year....Most "traditional" American food is European in origin - mom's apple pie is as English as I am, for example. However, we have clearly matured in our tastes since 1775 and decided egg nog is dreadful and got rid of it. American sitcoms are the only place I have ever seen it. _____________________

I'm actually a fully paid up member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea and I'm disappointed you left me out ![]() (If there are any members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea reading this thread, I assure you that I am not poking fun at your beliefs and merely selected your faith as the most obscure one I could find on Wikipedia - it actually has over 1,000,000 followers - FACT) Sandy tackles the lesser known faiths - DONE /me cracks up, spits coke all over my brand new monitor, shakes fist at Sandy, cracks up again. xD _____________________

Back to the egg nog though, I do remember a traditional recipe from Dorset for mulling cider for Christmas that involved egg yolks - this nog of which you speak sounds very simillar.

I have a chicken in the freezer already, and I am curing my own ham (which I enjoy touching). Also, I have been curing my own bacon this week too. Next monday I will be making the paté, which will need a week or so to mature before being ready to eat. "Vegetables" you say? I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean..... LOVE a man who cooks. *SIGH* _____________________
