Err ... I just woke up and read this thread but I dont "get it" - is this about a shower in Real Life or is this Kenny guy in SL? I get kinda confused. I mean if orange blobs are appearing in real life, well, maybe we better get serious about this. Otherwise it probably just a lonely SL blob looking for another blob ... right? Hey and what word rhymes with orange? Okay I shut up now.

Just a more serious reply - I have caged, shot, and maimed intruders etc but usually rely on good ol' bans to keep piss-artists off my land if they annoy me or my friends/family

From: Jig Chippewa Err ... I just woke up and read this thread but I dont "get it" - is this about a shower in Real Life or is this Kenny guy in SL? I get kinda confused. I mean if organge blobs are appearing in real life, well, maybe we better get serious about this. Otherwise it probably just a lonely SL blob looking for another blob ... right? Let's see: Kenny showed up in someone's SL shower, tried to cage the owner, but scripts were turned off so the caging didn't work. OP wanted to know if this was a common thing and how to prevent it. Now, it's one person supposedly being a hostile grouch hermit type who apparently orbits people if they set a single pixel on their land, rather than using the ban lines to prevent entries, and others are ticked off because this person is inconsiderate in doing this. *plays the world's smallest violin* SO, now it's devolved into a heated debate (is it a debate or just hostile aggressions?) over being overzealous in the "Get offa my grass!!!" This thread only interests me academically, since I didn't come to SL for privacy SL side

I do occasionally get the thrill of freezing a hostile person and dressing them in prim gowns before eject/banning them. Never had to rely on anything but the land tools on my own property. And I never minded visitors, because it's all pixels to me.

Okay Thanks Raudf! I actually kinda like visitors - I usually pounce on them (coz I am a Neko) and they often appear quite startled and amazed ... Usually they go off protesting that they have a partner or they are late for supper in real life. That is probably best way to deal with the odd intruder - Be "odd" oneself ...

My ex-partner in sl (who I have mentioned on many an occasion in these threads) once froze an intruder on roof of our house, THEN shot him with a f***ing big gun. He went flying off leaving his shoes behind still frozen to our roof. I laughed so hard in real life I nearly pissed myself. If there had been a little smoke rising from the shoes it would have been perfect!

From: Jillian Callahan Piffle. It has nothing to do with compassion. He's just being territorial and using the idea that he's been greifed as an excuse to weild a little brutal power over hapless passerby.
I mean really, it's SL, virtual world. It's not like life and property were under threat by these roving bands of ruffians.
It's easy enough to kindly let folks know they've stayed from land open to visitors and even to eject them from your land without resorting to such vulgar methods. very true, but there are those who don't get it. i don't agree with just arbitrarily orbiting someone for just stumbling in, but there are those instances when a good "kick in the virtual pants" is the only thing some understand.

But we did keep getting stumbling around our home, refusing to respond if we asked them to leave. So yes, everyone's welcome to wonder across the land, but if you don't leave the home up in the sky when asked, you get to check out the stars in close up.
