Strange person in my house

Last night I was in my bathroom redecorating. Suddenly this big orangish blob was next to me. Whoever it was, was dressed like Kenny from South Park. I was playing with the shower because something strange was going on with the script,so I just happened to have my error script window open. Anyway it seems this "person" Was trying to run a script called webspinner. I have it set so no one can run scripts on my land but me,so it failed. But I was wondering exactly what this 'person' was trying to do and why was he in my house?

I didn't say anything and unlocked the doors for him to get out,he left right away.He must have teleported in.(though my landing point is not in my bathroom??)

Very easy to get in a locked house

Cam inside the house..
Select something to sit on ..
"Sit" ..

Bingo - instant B&E.

I googled it and found it is a type of weapon from spiderman avs, which traps the victim in a web ball. Hard to say if they were just wearing it, or if they were actively trying to trap you.

It's one of the freebie caging weapons popular with griefers because it's a small sphere held in the hand, rather than the more obvious black with gold-sphere caging cane.

It said something like this:

Webspinner 123.9 blahblah Webshot failed blahblah.

So I think he must have been trying to shoot me with it. Do people often randomly go around trying to mess with people they don't know?

Thanks for checking that out. :)

Think you just gave a good example how incompetant the average griefer is.

If it makes you feel better, I made a dead Kenny head last night. I'll give a free copy if you IM me in-world.

It's physical, so you can kick it around the sim. My sis and I were playing Kenny Soccer with it last night.

I put mine up after that. I can't stand them, but it actually unnerves me when people pop in like that, lol.

Is there anything else there in terms of security I can purchase?

Various security orbs, but some find them a lot of trouble to set up. If you own the land, I have used one that used "pressure plates" to remove trespassers. PM me if you want the manufacturer.

Sounds like your script restriction actually worked. Still...what a crying shame that you now had to put up those ugly ban lines.

I love orbs because I can set them to protect a small radius and leave the rest of my land open. You can set them to be just around your house or skyhouse. I haven't found them that hard to set up at least the ones I use and they are cheap: $L200.

This is nothing new, you have these idiots always intruding on your land or house without any invitation or reason for being there.

If I choose to leave my land open, I have security drones which I have setup to give one quick warning then eject/orbit their asses out my land followed by a ban. I am so fed up that I don't care if they didn't know the place is off-limits. At this moment I have over 40 people banned from my land, all intruders who had no business being there.

Although, my land is right at the corner of the sim and no one has any reason to go there they still do. Mostly, the morons who frequent the mall which is much further down the sim.
They choose to enter my property although I have a pretty big sign which warns them if they do they will be ejected. Then to top it off they then call me to complain they were sent flying, imagine this?

So I know what it's like having some of people enter your property uninvited and unwanted. I just have a nice surprise waiting for them when they do.

In answer to your Question, yes it's been known to happen, But in Three years In SL, i've not had anyone try that on me in my home, and only once to my recolection in a public venue.

My main residence is near the Ahern Welcome Area. I get visitors all the time. My land is open to all who fly over, but the land is set to no-build, no-script and no-push. Noobs seem to always wander in and look around, but they can't change anything. Even during last year's grid attacks, the replicating objects never appeared on my land. I don't mind people looking, but they cant change anything or leave crap on my land.
