Freeform Role Playing

I've only been in SL for about a week now and love it. I've also did freeform Role Playing in IRC chat rooms. I'd love to do something like that on here...(I've been trying to get ppl I rped with in irc to come to SL). I'd love to get something going here..though I may not have much time once in a while. I've seen other threads on here about this but they all seemed to be dated...as I see it nothing would really need to be done there are clubs and all sorts of things across SL and in time we could get some land in stay in that one area...I would love to see something get done and any ideas would be great...IM me anytime and maybe we can get enough ppl into it

I used to do structured role-playing - i.e, tabletop roleplaying games run via IRC and SL - and was involved in a Shadowrun series that got unfortunately cut short due to the gamemaster losing everything he owned in Katrina.

A lot of my non-SL RPG committments have ended, so I've considered starting that up again... but it'd still be a formal RPG, not totally free-form. (Though they often turn fairly freeform within that context, simply because I tend to play with people who let dramatic necessity trump rules.)

I just wanted something going and make sure everyone has fun with it thats why I tend to go with freeform. There would need to be some rules but I'm more in it for the story and the fun

We've been trying to get our IRC RP here on SL for a while now, we've got most of our 'tavern' built and now we're working on the town. The IRC version is http://www.kaerwyn.com , you can check that out if you want. We hope to have the SL version up soon. We still have to make the rules in stuff. We moved away from the lable of FFRP since most people seem to think it means "Free from role playing" hehe. We call it CGWRP now Creative Group Writing RP. We're in it for the stories.

Testament, there is a roleplay event that is run every week by the Starfleet Command group. There's a little bit of structure when the notecard comes to you with the summary for that night, but otherwise it's pretty much freeform.

I don't know if you're in to Star Trek, but it could be worth checking out if you are interested in that genre.

I've fiddled with the idea of running a Cyberpunk 2020ish RPG here in SL, but I'm unsure if I'd be able to devote myself to running it fully. With sims like Midnight City, Darkmoon, and Gibson its really tempting to run something.

I just started a group, Cyberpunk Roleplayers, because I want to do something similar to that. I'm working on modding out a "backpack" script which is a dulled down version of the darklife thing to handle rules, and I think I'll put it in a datajack instead of a backpack (those look a bit dorky.) Get in touch with me in game to discuss further, if you want to collaborate.

For those wanted to something along the open end line. Once we get a group formed we can set up lose rules and codes of conduct etc...I'd really like to make this work...

I'd love something medieval-fantasy based. Alas, not much luck so far.

Ive been RolePlaying for over a decade now, and love a good RP. espceially when its well structured and everyone is participaing fully. me and some of my freinds have been working on various little RPs here and there, but the main problem is always fiding people who want to participate.
If you guys need some more players, and/or builders to help bring your Rp to life, let me know and i'd be more then happy to join in! ^^

I have a bit of land Called DarkParadise. I'm setting it up as a sort of cross roads or way point of lost souls. Its just a small little bar/tavern for ppl to mingle RP wise all are welcome to come and hang out to see what comes of it

Me and someclose freinds are in the process of constucting our own sim, soly for RP and interactive puzzle games.. sort of a RP verson of Silent Hill and Myst's lovechild. its a old half-abandoned old village on an island named Crimson Falls in the middle of a giant lake. there's an abandoned and some say haunted asylum on the western island, and a great cave-riddled mountain sticking up from the southern end.
the whole place will be full of RP props and opportunities, and any serious role players are welcome to message me or Draconic Leoncourt for information about our village, Crimson Falls.

if you want to do some darker, mature RP then we welcome all sorts of ghosts, ghouls, undead, monster, alien, or just your ordinary run of the mill psycho or insane asylum paitents, or even unsuspecting toursists, surveyers, treasure seekers, or anything you can think of that might bring you to investigate such a place.. but beware of cultists and the undead!

There's a reasonably strong Victorian Science Fiction (steampunk) community doing persistent freeform roleplaying.

If you're familiar with Space:1889, Terra Incognita, or League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Forgotten Futures, or G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. then you'll be at home in this environment.

We're usually in or about Withnail Academy in Clear. A good entry point is our Tea and Tall Tales events on Friday nights at 10pm. This is where adventurers recount tales of their remarkable adventures. Similar to "The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen", and "Big Fish".

Maybe we should all get together and find a way of tying in all of our RP sims. I write stories on a somewhat normal basis and could think of a way to tie'em all together if I had a basic idea of everyones characters/storylines. I think it could work and I'd be willing to travel from place to place for RP reasons. So what do you guys think? oh and maybe if this is to happen we should make a group or something...I'd just like to see something happen in game I've been really working on my bit of land to make it RP worthy...but I don't have much money and my building skills are only so-so. Anyone feel free to IM me about this and maybe we could get something working!
