Mexican food is amazing stuff - no matter what you order they bring you the same thing, only folded differently!

I think anyone who has spent a large amount of time online, and has met people from online with mixed results can certainly attest to how much people lie about things. Two examples from IRC... One regular to an old channel of ours passed out her picture, and was constantly talking about how wealthy her family was. It all started breaking down when she promised to fly us all over to England for Thanksgiving in her daddy's jet. (The English are known for their Thanksgiving Day celebrations, I hear.) In the end, it was revealed that she was a man, and the picture she passed out came with a frame he bought. There is also someone well known in many roleplaying channels who poses as a very young girl (9 or 10) and tries to get men to cyber her. She is also a man, and will admit to that only after the cybering, and likes to give all the gruesome details of what he was doing during the cybering. Blech, on all counts. _____________________

Most people can tell my gender at a distance in RL, but in SL I just pretend the person playing a female avatar is female. If she isn't, it's not my problem. She gonna be treated like a sister!

Let it not be thought for a second that I am not involved, or that I am indifferent to SL community.
But... Where is the "Do nothing" option? If SL governtment occurs, I'll get over it. Dare I ask this question... But besides your big-namers.... Whats the worst that could happen? >.> <.< >.> _____________________

If player-run government came to SL, I would oppose it. Just as I oppose the majority in SL who say that player-run government isn't necessary today.
My Second Life fantasy is opposition to the majority, and nobody, nobody, can take that away from me.... _____________________

Effectively 'government' is already in SL...it's a 'benevolent' dictatorship run by LL.
You can't get away from it but by leaving. Any private lands can have their own opt-in 'government' though I suppose. I'd actually like to see infrastructure for such things. But the 'public' lands...they already have a government and one you can only give your suggestions and complaints to. |

I chose the last one on the poll.
But if Government came to SL (full time) I'd make it a point to buy my own head of state. I thought this picture I took a LONG time ago was worth posting too. - Sam _____________________

If it became clear that self-government in sl was imminent, then I would do my very best to try to get involved in the setting up process, so that I could try to encourage the creation of strong scrutiny functions.
Once the government was in place, when the first sign of corruption showed (probably within the first six months) I would pack my bags and look for another world. _____________________

Gnomes are a tasty treat for us Demons. Besides, Demons have their own governmental structure and are not answerable to HUMAN constructs!

Official Stuff From the Office of the Minister of Stuff
10-13-2005 18:46
I would organize some sort of statement that properly reflected my views... Ahh I foresee the creation a dictatorship to crush the club-owned government. I'd join your military. Please appoint me as the Minister of Stuff. Thanks! (I'd like a lapel pin too, platinum, or gold, which reflects my alligence to your wise governance) Player-based govt in SL would be its complete downfall. Imho, the creative would leave, or at best hermit in exclusive (closed) private sims, where even the "government" can't go. Thus leaving SL a void filled with [ ]. Later on we can grant you (LD) god-like status (via scripts we can fool the commoners that you have supernatural powers). Then we'll change SL to more of a Populace type game. _____________________
