Definately yes, they call themselves a "cyber terrorist" group and this tells enough things about them. Moreover whenever a griefer belonging to W-hats gets into some kind of conflict due to their griefing, their fellow griefers come to to their aid, their leaders being the first in queque. So yes, it seems quite an organized group of griefers and blaming the continuated acts of griefing to some isolated "trigger happy" members seems quite clumsy way to cover their asses.
And anyway if you associate with griefers, shouldn't be surprised if you get involved in their griefing and in the bad name they make for themselves and for the group they belong to.
Moreover if you associate with self defined "cyber terrorists" you should take responsibility for that self-definition. If you are not up to it themn you should consider looking for another group of "post-modern" (lol) artists.

I go by group charters, If they say their mission is to take down the grid, grief the population and cause trouble. Yup I'm gonna believe them.

This kind of signs are in various places of the grid (or over some absolutely distasteful vans), some of them owned by W-hats leaders. Maybe some evil being tried to frame you and your nice friends and managed who knows how to hack the owner field of those items... terrible B)

those signs are a clever jab at people who called us cyber terrorists. they told us we were, so we made some vans to fit the description. Seriously, this is not ORGANIZED GRIEFING. W-hats are simply a group of people from a gaming subforum of a certain website who decided to try out SL. The thread on our forums simply says "hey look this is SL, you can build stuff and customize your avatar, 7 day free trial, come play!". What people do in this game is really based on personal decision. We don't organize OMG GRIEFER CONVENTIONS.

The only cleverness I see is the convenient outs you folks always seem to create.

You all lament being associated with your group, but anytime even ONE of you is mentioned, you all call each other up and act as a group entity. Ironic isn't it?

Calling people griefers is very popular on these forums. One time someone got accused of planting griefer trees.

You know, he was right about there being the words "cyber terrorist". I wasn't aware of that. But he took it completely seriously when it was an obvious joke making fun of the people calling them "cyber terrorists" when they are not. I just now saw it and I knew immediately it was a joke, its not hard to figure out. So him bringing all of this into the thread is just ridiculous.

You might consider finding another game then, and bringing your group along. I'm sure many would be happy.

It is a mistake to equate the actions of a few with the actions of the entire group. Furthermore, the towers are a jab at all the idiot jingoists who flew tacky flags from their cars on Sept. 11, when they didn't own any flags at all on Sept. 10. All the other stuff, like the communist symbology and the references to terrorism (aside from the towers), are there to poke fun at people who like to imagine that W-hat is some kind of organized crime syndicate - when in fact the only requirement for membership is an account at an Internet forum.

It's amazing that W-Hat has been hovering around this forum for hours now. Waiting. It's a greater concentration than I have seen in months. How quaint. I am sure it's because you are just a loose association of players, not groupthink at all.

I'm not sure I get the connection between using communist insignia as a button-pushing tool and terrorism.

W-hat's stuff is actually really tame (sorry guys) - they use images of Stalin and of the hammer and sickle. Surely actual evil griefing terrorists (TM) would use terrorist imagery.

However it works! Even a van with a hammer and sickle seems to wind people up! Congratulations - I seem to have over estimated the intelligence of the community.

The power of imagery to wind people up is interesting. Does a texture make me a terrorist? On an unscripted object? Does the use of a cyrillic-style font (in the latin alphabet!) make me a terrorist?

I agree, its not a clever joke. I wasn't aware the point of you bringing it up was all about how clever it is, I guess I thought maybe you were trying to point fingers at those you don't like. And it all may be distasteful to you, but taste isn't regulated here. Its not against the rules to be distasteful, so I really don't know what your point is there. You don't like it, fine. Good for you. But it has nothing whatsoever to do with this thread.
