Upon entering Orientation Island, I tried to model my AV after myself. I actually think that the tools are biased against real bodies, perhaps not intentionally, but they don't make it easy.

As a result of trying to "un-buff" myself, my AV is quite simply deformed. Whereas most clothing is truly one-size-fits-all, almost no clothing fits me and anything that my AV wears well has literally been custom tailored.

Maybe I should form a support group. :p

"Body by Matel" has a nice ring to it.
Only until Mattel's incredibly voracious lawyers catch wind of it :(

This was simply a stab at Mattel's reputation for being obnoxious and had nothing to do with trademarks, the poster or any thing else. Any relation to any Barbies, living, dead, or lesbian is purely coincidental.

Most female avs look like they're just one more missed meal away from dying of starvation.... not attractive at all!

I've noticed many female human avatars are quite homogenous looking. Mine included to some extent except for 2 glaring ommisions. ;) I would think it's only human nature to make an avatar with some appeal but I'm wondering if this is what others really want to see? I find myself drawn to avatars who look different.

We could presume based on the choices we make when we make our avatars that the fantasy land female with the massive chest, tiny waist and rail thin legs is more appealing than an avatar who looks more realistic, or completely out there. But is actually the case? Are we wrong? (loaded question, I know, but I'm still hoping some will reply)

Disclaimer: I'm not objecting to anyone's avatar. Just genuinely curious.

Marcos, it's just the result of Aimee cloing. Duh! :p

My avatar is a combination of what I look like irl, and what I wish I looked like in real life. Her eyes and lips are much bigger than mine are (good thing too, bc a person with eyes that big would be freaky looking). Both my avatar and I have a big nose, as well as very fair skin and black hair. We also share the same high cheekbones and small chin. My fav color is green, so that is her eye color. And I have always wanted curly hair (mine is long and straight), so my avatar usually has a curly hairstyle.
As far as body shape goes, I have a pretty big arse for a white girl, which has sometimes gotten me in trouble. I am large breasted irl, with a small waist, and yes I have the pics to prove it. :P I also have thick thighs, which I dislike, so my avatar doesn't...
I like the fact that everyone looks different, and while a lot of women do go for the Barbie body, they all have differences.

And I love both RL and SL you , Katt. :)

im a rl gal who sometimes plays a guy and sometimes plays a gal. It all depends on what mood I am in. I have however put my first life pick in my profile so that no one ever feels dupped. :)

There are no ideal women. We are all human.

As for the feminine figure, mine is one of those types that a certain kind of man adores. Namely, a man who appreciates luscious roundness and fluffiness.

As a male, my name is pronounced <AL 'n>
As a female, my name is pronounced <a- LAYNE>

I don't play in my female av very often.
I tried, but I just can't get into it....
I guess the male identity thing is just too locked in. :p

Anyway, when I made my female avatar, I created her to be "of womanly proportion" instead of trying to make the female frame fit the proportions of a Barbie... or worse yet, a teenage boy with watermelons strapped to his chest... Inother words, although her breasts are generous (not huuuuge... about a C cup..), her butt is definitely more the thing to get attention... In the words of a long gone artist, "Baby got 'BACK"!

As with my male avatar, I think more realistic proportions are more attractive... I tried to model the male after my own body and facial structure.

With the female, the model is built off of several different women that I know and respect. She doesn't fit the "Porn ideal", but if you ask me, she's sexy as hell...
Part of that, I think, is because the avatars in this environment rarely slouch or wear their bodies in ways that intimate low or damaged self esteem... In SL, everyone has a backbone.

I like that.
