yes for a game where an argument is:
"Second Life is a land of opportunity. Did you ever think you’d be able to make real money in a virtual world? It’s happening in Second Life right now. Everyday Residents are creating virtual goods and services for their own pleasure, to share with others or to sell at various in-world venues. "
we can wonder why they chose such a way of strangling the economy and still wonder what s wrong with it ....

As far as club events go I think it's silly to reward someone who for the most part has only proven themselves competent enough to buy land.
Dwell rewards the land owners, not the builder, not the host, not the scripter. just the person who bought something.
ok so that has very little to do with the thread perhaps, but if we stop rewarding with Dwell we would see the types of events switch from being "a steak around my neck so you will come dwell" to maybe something of value.
end linden support for contests, end dwell, and rating is completely borked.. end that too
WOOOO How was that for an off topic rant??

But ...

Support goes to hosts not land owners. Yes, Unless the Host is the Land Owner, but your keeping poor people poor too with the idea of cut all support. I dont think people who pay so much to have land bug enough fora club are that concerned over their support of 250 multiplied by how many events allowed to be supported on (7)- They usually go over that in what they add to the prizes anyhow that they are supported on. Belive me , I believe improvements should be made but to say cut it all off is a bit too much . Many club owners Pay people to host beyond what the hosts gets from Linden support also.
But with the dwell thing I have said in another post i dont know why the island and whole sim owners just dont get a 512 and use the money they spend on an island to buy money from GOM and pay 20-40 people a salary to just stand on there 512. If they dont build anything on it they can still Charge people money to sell their things. Wouldn't that just be gorgeous. So what you think they should take that away too? Take away dwell bonus
while they are at it lets get rid of the group Bonus too.
Where does it stop? Do you know what you are asking for?
I am not sure why i am even adding to all of this.
I think they Should get rid of the forums and make us make complaining events whhere we get support if we send the log to them so they can see the issues. I am sure they would read something they are paying for.

A rant and rave event is a splendiferous idea. Though it would necessitate a mature parcel of land due to the choice words that would likely spill out. Ohh and a spectators section of bleachers. I'll bring the popcorn.

I would love to attend a building 101 class but have seen none since I started, at least at a time which meant it wasn't in the middle of the night for me.
Have found two clubs which i like and will stick with - not interested in the rest - naked av contest etc.
My latest favourite is Tringo at the Barnyard - they do bingo too but Tringo is fabulous.
I am about to start hosting some events in Slate, in Red River, which is a fabulous wild west build. I was going to start with Wild West Trivia but does anyone have a better idea? I really wanted to arrange shoot outs between people but we can't get the scripts at the moment.
And will people who I have never heard of stop tping me to clubs. Its really pathetic.

Alexa Make your own cowboy hat (offer a few textures and teach people how to build a cowboy hat...Candy used to have huge turnouts for building flower pots and texturing rooms) Wagon build off Ghost town scavenger hunt (each peice found opens to a peice of trivia and a clue for the next local) Ask the creators of Olde london about the scripts used for the bank robber bit and do a wells fargo heist Offer hay rides with ghost stories Best cowboy song contest These are silly, yes, but a start. I am sure others will have better suggestions.

From: YadNi Monde The way event rules have been redesigned made the SL economy litterally crash down, the poors stay poor and only the rich can buy at will, reminds me of another world named real..... Give back the Lindens for organising events and let people do commercial events such as Auctions, Invites to see a new place, Half Price Sales or anything that kind, and the economy will raise again. I agree as well... but the old addage be careful what you wish for comes to mind as we used to have this and then screamed about it and the Linden's listened, then applied draconian measures. We need a way to be able to select the category of event we want and then everything can be listed and we won't feel like we are swimming though an ocean of spam.

(done maybe?) - A home show of some type where building designs are on display. - I was thinking since Bingo is possible, 1 on 1 Battleship for money? - Jepoardy?

Just because something has been done does not make the idea obsolete. Everything done once can be done again and possibly better by someone else . Good thinking Simon. The homeshow event would be fabulous. Give everyone a 10x10 room to decorate to their liking using x prims...each person has x days to complete their room and put it up for display. You would need to have categories for novice and expert but it would be fun. In the end you could do a "parade of rooms" where everyone in sl is invited to vote for the best room decor.

From: Jonquille Noir What I would like to see are different Tabs in the event lists, just as there are on our maps. Parties, Trivia, Classes, Contests, Creation, etc etc. That way I could skip to what I felt like doing without being spammed by Topless Sexiest Av Money Ball Parties. ABSOLUTELY!!!!! I would love to see this as well. Then it doesnt matter how many events are listed, they all get sorted. Perhaps another tab for commerce events too? Store openings, club openings, re-openings under new management etc etc.

A SL World Wide Home Show like the burning man dedicated to whatever you would put into your house. Appliances, Furniture, Art, Plants etc. An SL World Wide Vehicle Show would be cool too. The problem is that to do these two privately you would need a lot of land and prim allotment.
