I think they believe the difference between "inappropriate" and "against TOS" is quite large.. at least that is how I read into it. I would love to be corrected though

I found that the simpler you make the abuse reports, the better.

"XYZ has restricted access to my land by adding ban to their properties that surround mine. I am having extreme difficulty moving in and out of my land. Please ask XYZ to remove the ban lines."

Who the Hell is XYZ??!!?!? and WHY haven't i got their goo yet?

But I truly don't think that she violated TOS.. that's why I asked the Linden just to double check. I do think that fung is a griefer in a really creative way though. I need a non-fung union.. or at least some representation

OK.. lets SAY i bought a house in the middle of a VERY large field.. and some git.. bought the land surrounding it... and planted HUGE stupid signs everywhere.. so my views of the cows and the windmills and the teletubbies were obscured and I compalined about this person, who in turn cut off ALL my access to my land via there land.

So i would have no walking way in, biking, driving, unfortunatley my tardis is broken or i could just time travel there... the ONLY way i would be able to get in would be to fly above the stupid signs.. which btw ms fung would have placed irritably high, now... i don't know about you GUYS, but i dont HAVE a pilots license.. OR the funds for a plane, land barons MIGHT be able to afford this tho, as they get so much of our money... ANYWAY... i would have NO way to get back to my cosy farmhouse and then my house would prolly burn down cos i left the aga on cooking rice pudding...

if THAT happened to me... i'd be rather damn annoyed o.O

Oh, panda, and worst case, you can always just put up really ugly stuff on your land and list it for 999999L. I'm sure Ans...err Mansey would be happy to see her land not sell because of an ugly neighboring property.

Lindens tell you to post here to try to create social pressure because they don't want to lose a player who is buying a lot of land and giving them lots of money. The Lindens tell you in private to post, then one comes out here to say "hey now, don't make personal attacks.".
For some reason, there is a pattern of this with LL, for them to not police us but rather expect us to police eachother.
Unfortunately, pandastrong, you have very little choice but to maybe sell your land and try to get different land someplace else. I don't think it really matters what any players think, as you can see, we can't really do anything but criticize eachother, and most of us are pretty thick-skinned (Except for me, I cry myself to sleep every night--but that's not the issue here!).

In the way of a friend to a friend, I would just say you have very bad luck when it comes to land and I personally wouldn't pay monthly for the priveledge to own 512 sq m, it's just to tiny. My best advice if you are going to stay in that small tier is to A) give it up and go for the ten dollar special (as in, don't pay monthly, just the one-time fee membership) and B) rent a little apartment or house, like at Megatower or something and just use sandboxes to build.

I myself don't own any land in SL, I rent and get along just fine.

You could put up boycott signs with information about "good ways" to buy land in SL (I know some mentors and/or Live Help people have made notecards with this kind of information - you could check with them). Let your land there in the middle become an information station. It may not reach much of the rest of the world, but it could keep a certain person from being able to sell that land in the snow sims.

Hey Lindens, maybe, just maybe, if someone incurrs personal attacks on such a regular basis then maybe there's a reason for it. There are social norms that transcend the Terms of Service and the only power that residents have for sanctioning such behavior is to post their grievances - to be summarily ignored by the gamemasters.

When one person so blatently ignores the Categorical Imperative people get annoyed. One of the most recurring contentious bits of western civilization regards land use and centuries of arcane legal codification bear testament to our feeble attempts to find an equitable means of handling disputes.

Please use the more appropriate method of doing something about it rather than trying to stifle dissent, such as banning Anshe or siezing her land.

I would call neg rating for a for sale sign uncalled. If someone had some particles that would come to your land or something similar, like a very lagging script; I would understand a neg rating.
But a for sale sign? I just think you people are so jelous st someone who has managed to make some money. You do everything and use every excuse to neg rate or talk bad of this one person in particular.

I am not about to start a pro for sale sign fan club, but the sign do not bother me at all. I am much more irritated by high builds, you fly into and get stuck, lame bars that people put up because they think they can get some privacy and ugly walls that is just at your border.

I rather have 50 for sale signs around me that 3 crowded lagging clubs.

Neg rating ugly or annoying builds is a time honored tradition in SL. It is QUITE called for, and acceptable. So THERE you ignorant poopyhead.

*A* for sale sign. Yes, that would have been a little ridiculous and uncalled for. But when they're everywhere, bordering your property, scattered all over a sim especially in large clumps of small parcels we're talking excessive and unnecessary. And to many people, quite an eye sore. I wouldn't call that jealousy necessarily.

If I buy one the plots that is in the center of the many plots that I am banned from, how long does fung have to remove the surronding land area bans before he/she is in violation of TOS? Cause I am sooooooooo considering doing this

Actually, buy a plot in the middle so she has to remove the ban - she cannot block your access to your land.

Well that is very nice that you are irritated by high builds, and red bars. Glad you told us.

Why can't you just respect that how you feel about high builds and red bars is how some of us feel about for sale signs.

And guess what? There is no databse of what is an acceptable or unnacceptable reason for negging some one so whether you deem it uncalled for or not is irrelevant.

THATS HARDLY TRUE (unless done by a group/friends) SINCE A PERSONS REASONS FOR NEG RATING ARE THEIR OWN AND NEG RATING YOU BACK IN BEHAVIOR (FOR NEGGING THEM) AND THEN DEEMING YOU UGLY AND YOUR BUILDING SKILLS LACKING IS ALSO SUBJECTIVE AND UP TO THAT PERSON.

3. PLEASE END THESE THREADS AND POSTS BEMOANING NEG RATES.
