I've been baron-banned

A certain land baron who's name might happen to rhyme with mansey fung has bought up a ton of land next to my lil 512... when he/she put 10 for sale signs up right outside of my lot, I chose to neg rate his/her building skills. He/she then chose to ban me from the land.. making it very hard for me to get near my plot.

So.. moral of the story?

I sell snow land cheap now

OH! And this beautiful little plot is right next to the Pitt classroom. Starting bid is at 1 L$

She did the same thing to me. Then sent me a note telling me "It was just a joke" oh that's realy funny. Side splitting even.

I actually can get to the land.. but it is difficult due to the overwhelming size of fung's property. But I am no TOS expert

panda I have some land in Takalo (160,36) 1904m2 its currently for sale but so far no one is buying it. It has a building on it but I am not using it. If you want you can use it

Mansey Fung lol. You are awesome, Panda. I also have some snow land you can use - about 4500m in Meribel that is currently not in use, other than having a small cabin on it.

I just kinda find it hard to participate in land ownership now. It seems so utterly flawed, and I would feel kinda hypocritical supporting the system in that way.

But who knows.. once my fung anger subsides, maybe.

Definite violation of the Terms of Service (TOS) to ban all entry to someone's land if you own all of the land around them. That can get you banned from SL for a few days. Report her. Contact a Linden and they will undo the ban for you.

Said person is still a complete petty asshole for doing that. Hardly a shock though. It is nice to finally see cracks in the facade.

Oh.. and to show that I wasn't trying to be an insane griefer.. I even gave a little message in my neg rate:

"Awesome. Do you think you could build 20 more signs? Thx "

Thought a little humor might lighten up the task of neg rating someone.

When did the world's fung become so humorless?

When they realized that filling their cracks with cement didn't solve the problem?

if you are dishing it out you should learn to take it to. i think everyone should understand that the right to negatively rate some one is not consequence free. this thread his hypocracy to the nth degree.

i expect this thread to be either edited rigourously or deleted tomorrow by LL.

Consequences are fine, breaking the TOS is not

the land ban is only about 20 m's or so. it's a simple matter of flying over the land. this isn't a TOS violation. 200m high walls surrounding his land in every direction would be a TOS violation.

I neg-rated his/her building ability. It was not personal. So as far as dishing it out goes.. well I don't want to get banned from the forums by telling you or fung what i think of you lot.

The ratings system is part of the game: Not the same as repurposing a tool (land ban) used by your buddy fung to ruin another SL'rs enjoyment of the game.

To neg rate in return is fine. To put a ban specifically of that player on land you are not even using surrounding their plot is just childish and lame. There is no hypocrisy in this thread.

neg ratings are personal. it is a fallacy to think you can tell someone - i don't like you or this or that about you and expect that to be an objectivie impersonal exchange.

feel free to tell me inworld what your beef is with me. the only time we crossed paths was once or twice in tharu and i thought it was a good time.

the land banning is much as part of the game as the rating system.
