They are not sufficiently staffed up for the task at hand. I can only conclude that these Lindens who help in-game are mainly telecommuters, and that maybe a lot of stuff happens off-site. |

They are not faceless. They have faces, individual personalities, and were happy to have their photos taken.
I did not expect them to talk about every dark secret they have. However, I am 100% confident that selling L$s "on the side" through IGE or GOM, when they have explicitly and repeatedly said this is forbidden for LL or any employee of LL, is not happening. Oh ok, my bad. I thought you were saying that because you met them and they were nice, that meant they weren't an evil corporation just out to make a buck. When actually you were being literal about them being real humans with faces, and a relatively small number of people. I got it now.  |

I didn't say anywhere that telecommuters can print money, that's silly. Where do you find that? Why do you have to approach each post with a pounce and a sneer? It's not healthy. Seriously. The post is in response to Lisse's bit about meeting SL staff, all of 30 people, who were nice human beings who smiled. And we responded by saying, but just seeing people f2f doesn't prove they might not have some scam going (we don't have public checks and balances!) and I further elaborated that only have 30 people on staff just was not enough for the general job of maintaining this game, and that the 30 just doesn't represent all the manpower, i.e. they have telecommuters. It was a comment about the general issue of their staffing and maintenance of the game, not about the money-printing issue. Asking questions about powerful and rich entities is not paranoia, it's democracy. Or do you think because it's a game company, anything goes? |

I received an e-mail stating that I've been reported for abuse and/or violated TOS in one of the PG sandboxes on 5 Jan 2005. I've asked for details, waiting for the reply now. (no I didn't ask who it was) I must have been really, really bad. I bet it's the Graffitti Board that got me in trouble, eg. someone posted a pr0n pic on it and I get the blame because I can't tell who dropped what into the prim. My theory: the average creative SL user eventually gets banned. I better get started on my SL Will, the reaper is coming to get me. |
