Unfairly neg rated

It fills me with an odd pleasure that fucktard has become quite popular in these forums. 'Tis one of my favorite words, and quite appropo in this case. While we all seem to subscribe to the ratings are pointless mindset, the starter of this thread is a perfect example of how someone's carelessness and rudeness can upset another player.

Until the system is replaced, remove the freaking negative rates to keep this from happening over and over. Just wipe all the existing ones and grey out the option, you can leave everything else the same. For some people, neg rates are a very personal thing, no matter how someone else, even collectively, feels about them.

LOL...Fucktard is my new favorite word. Yes, I did adopt it from off the forums. Quite catching I must admit. Even in RL when someone cuts me off while I'm driving..instead of yelling "Asshole!", I now choose to yell "Fucktard!!".

I personally believe that anything serious enough to deserve a negative rating should also deserve an abuse report. I don't believe negative ratings should be allowed on any player's whim.

LOL...that's another good one, however "asshat" has now seemed to become a compliment to some. They are proud when they are called a "Asshat"! *** you know who you are***. Therefore, fucktard is my choice when people do stuff that if just..well...you know fucking retarded!

Negrating one person in the game with a triple neg-rating (Ulrika -- for her vociferous attacks in the forums and scandalous incitement) is hardly grounds for characterizing me as a "triple neg-rating griefer" because

a) it's not griefing
b) one act does not characterize a person and
c) I haven't "admitted" to this characterization such as to "recover".

So all the statements made here are false. It's characteristic of the arch ad-hominem attacks in which Ulrika engages and which Jeska admonished against.

Triple negrating one person is allowed; it is not griefing; it is not grounds for calling for boycotts of the person and slamming them and telling everyone not to do business with them; and it is not an "acknowledgement" to agree that yes, these negrates were made for uproarious forum attacks and yes, they will not be removed. The other one was reversed because it was clear the person just went off on a typical forum attack posse bender but that wasn't typical of her behavior in general.

Don't forget that there are other up and coming words too like

Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. There are only two others that I have found more arrogant and infuriating in SL than you Prokofy. One of those two received the first neg rates I had ever given anyone in over a year of being in SL (the other 3 neg rates I gave to Darko for his campaign to collect as many negs as he could from friends to prove the worthless nature of the neg rate system).

Even the Lindens understand that the system is flawed and that is why they are taking feedback on getting it changed.

In light of the fact that you are in such favor of the rating system, I may just break down and give my second set of neg ratings to you. They won't be there forever after all, since the system will change. But in the meantime I can at least make you happy by using the system the way you think we should be allowed to use it.

Happens all the time unfortunately. The fact that somebody can directly effect your in game experience and status for no reason at all has always been a topic of debate. IMHO no player should be able to negatively effect anothers experience for any reason, period. But neg ratings enable this behavior.

I've had people neg rate me because they don't like the fact my front door is locked. Go figure that.

I'm not going to give YOU a negrate, however, because even if we disagree, you attempt in good faith to grapple with the forum topics and deal with them thoughtfully. I don't see any bad will on your part or most forum posters part, but I do see that you and others are simply unaware of the insular, closed, smug ranks in which you've been inhabiting for a year or two years or even for 2 days. I can quite understand that you find me the most arrogant person in SL for exposing this reality of our common virtuality, but there it is. I shall wear your negrate with honor. I think the other negrate came from a Ms. Zapata, and I look forward to hearing what her story is (is she your alt or something?) and her reason for negrating now me but my alts, and I also look forward to having the one other person who negrated me step up to the plate -- unless it's that same guy who had the griefing bouncing security script -- that's most likely.

I guess certain people kinda missed the 'Behaviour', 'Appearance', and 'Building' labels, on each of the different rating types. Ah well, little hope for the deliberately obtuse.

For everyone who considers treble-negs to be griefing: do you treble-pos rate people? After actually evaluating their appearance, personality, and building skill?

I rarely triple pos rate folks... the most I'll usually do is Appearance and Behaviour after talking to people for a lil while.. That is if I think their appearance is cool and their behaviour is pretty good.

Building I'll do when I see something they've built...

Conditioned as I am to Stratics censorship and impressed as I am with Lindens' tolerance, I *am* curious to see if this qualifies as a personal attack or not. It would seem to me that taking a person's forum avatar and making a naked ass out of it and donning it in-world and disseminating it as a form of humiliation and publishing that on the forum *might* just qualify as a personal attack or harassment, but who knows? It's a free country, especially the bits outside the socialist domain -- or maybe there is only suppose to be freedom -- and freedom to demean -- for the socialist set, and not the rest of us?

I can now see beyond a shadow of a doubt how appropriate it was for me to oppose you on the forums. It wouldn't occur to me to harass people in this fashion, but I'm new. Geez are you afraid to negrate me or something LOL?

This is a good advertisement for my residential development because it illustrates what an ass you are, and how important it is to get away from ugly views like that, and settle in a place where people at least try to preserve the views.
