(I'm not mad) There was PROOF of the FIC, and it's already removed! (I'm NOT mad) I saw it! I could NOT believe that people like Philip Linden and Deana Linden and Bugtester2test Linden were so priveleged as to access the preview grid early! I'm shocked! _____________________

I dunno if I can see it this way... like just about everyone on the street youask will know the word "cyberspace" but very very few know "metaverse" The word does tend to be overused. The feature set of 1.6 is interesting - some unexpected things that I'm very happy about, but mostly in the "wow, we should have had this in beta" kind of way than anything. Overall it is definitely the antidote to 1.5. Time will tell if it changes SL as much as 1.4 did. _____________________

The preview has not been officially released yet. There are people who are aware of what is in 1.6 but are not revealing what is in it, other than to say it is worth the wait, out of deference to LL. that depends on how you look at it.
there was a preview of 1.6 open to a few residents on the 1st, there should be a "more" public preview in the next few days. Most of us have been asked not to say too much about what we have seen. But from what I have seen, every one will be impressed. _____________________

LL had a tiny beta today and invited just a couple of people on condition that we wouldnt go around ruining the suprise for everyone else. What I can say however is: As usual, there is one major new kickass feature (which splat hid under the CENSORED), and quite a few other fixes which should have been a long time coming, as well as the usual smattering of new features. It's so far proving to be a good preview of what is to come in the future - lots of interesting UI and performance tweaks (getting good FPS with 30 people in the area), however it's definetely still a beta - as there were clearly stability issues with the preview client. -Adam _____________________
