Is there a concerted effort by club owners against other clubs?

You know I dont care whether there are clubs or are no clubs as I can party and dance happly and Lag free on my own land.

But what befuddles me is this is commentary to people arguing a point of clubs cutthroating one another to climb the ladder of success to be on top for dwell and incentive.

So here I sit writing this wondering in all honesty whats the point. To make comments as the aforementioned is no different than the mentality of some of the people that want a player run government.

I mean seriously can people be that narrow minded and unaccepting of other ideas or concepts.
If so does that mean that half of the SL populace is a bunch of Archie Bunkers crouching for the next attack. Please come on people this is ludicris. How narrow minded is it to say "well if you dont like it sux to be you!".

Some Rules of Thought for those that are knee deep involved in this.

Like the people that are in Comercialism ventures Club owners should expect the following.

#1 Drama..your gonna get it if you didnt want it never should have built a club.

#2 Backstabbing..sad but true expect it you own a club in SL.

#3 Stupid Posts on the forums for or against the club...expect it. its your legacy as a Club owner.

Again I dont care either way if a club exists or not. What I do care about is in either case no one has the right to tell anyone else what to do on their land. Whether I agree or disagree with the practice of clubs and dancers and the silly shit drama that goes with them thats not the point the point is everyone needs to respect everyone else in their views and oppinions. At the same time posts like the aforementioned are what creates flame wars when a single mindset believes itself to be the creator of all creation in SL.

So Im sorry for apparently whining in this thread but the thing that finally got to me was the closed minded attitudes that people were throwing at one another when trying to offer viewpoints or even possible solutions.

So Carry On and Ignore me if you must but I just wanted to point out the narrowmindedness of that mindset was all.

I keep saying i'm just a girl that wants to make someplace very cool for people to feel open, free and do what ever they want, including party in the party area if they want, and yes we may have a themed area that changes with each event, it's open and people go all over to the different attractions on the island that doesn't have anything to do with the "Club Scene" thats what I feel. However there are people out there who have flamed me in the past putting me in the so called hated club groups.

I was at that meeting. It was not to start war on rival clubs. I will not go into all the details of this meeting because frankly it is none of your business. One of the topics did involve a club, I will not name which because I am not here to slander. ONE club. Not many as you portray. The reason being is it is run and owned by a repeat offender who has been banned from SL a number of times for offenses such as nuking sims and harassing players AND lindens.

We believe competition is healthy and that there is room for everyone in SL. We did not have a problem until members of the group started coming to other clubs offering money to people to leave our clubs. Also trying to recruit from staff members via bribery, as well as making threatening comments to the owners, and starting many of these rumors you are hearing.

You say "Well if he is a repeat offender why not just report him to linden." Because he does not work alone. And if we report him to linden, they will just ban his account and in 2 days he will be back on a new account. If even that long.

S.L.A.M. was formed to put an end to griefers in a positive manner. No slander, no bs. Simple as that. Clubs get attacked every day and its been progressively getting worse. We decided to take a stand.

As to the reason Jenna is the leader of the group and not someone else, she has the name and the ability to bring people together. We had originally gone to linden to ask them to form the group so that it could be run by a neutral. We hope that in the future this will still be possible.

The only reason I choose to share this much information with you is because I'm sick of all the bs rumors and speculations. I would like to see this picture that is being passed around. Btw it was illegal and against the TOS to take that picture to begin with, and passing it around without the consent of all parties involved further violates that. It would be ill advised to use any of these logs from yahoo as it also violates privacy laws.

Actually that's exactly my point Shadow, but applied on the reverse direction. Normally this narrow mindedness has one of it's more interesting exploits in the concept: "You are a club owner so you must be an ineducated idiot not able to script a simple touch event or to place a texture on a cube", concept that is perfectly explained in Maxx's hackneyed satire and that honestly (even not being a club owner, nor a regular club patron) seems to me as short sighted and narrow minded as it can be.

And clubs are best appreciated when they don't exist.

I agree with Blue, talk about getting blown out of poportion. If anyone bothered to read the charter would see what SLAM is for. We have been able so far to stop 3 repeat attackers such as the ones who bomb the club Booty Call. Lacie was able to IM and inform us and we were able to take action in preventing the attackers from hitting another venue. This was established after we notice that when one club was attacked simlar if not identical attackers and attacks would occur at other top venues. omg now thats a funny face ^_^

What group is it that drops a ton of scanning mechanisms on paradise island? What group is it that files fake abuse reports and sends in emails on someone when its false information?

Well there are clubs offering rididulous sums of money to hire the good staff of other clubs away. How do i know this? Because it happened to Club Belle Feu. After initially freaking out i resolved to let 'em go. We may not host as many events...we may fall off the hallowed popular places thingy...but we vow to provide a quality club atmosphere that is all about the music and the experience. So check us out (shameless plug).

All that and Belle Feu is relatively small peanuts in a club kinda way.

Now thats a load of BS. This is one of the rumors I am speaking of in my previous post. I personally asked multiple times who the owner of the scanners was so that we could deal with the situation, as I was told when I asked the person was a member of Edge staff. Appearently this is just another fabrication to give The Edge and SLAM a bad name. As no one was able to provided me with a name.

Sorry, I wasn't clear on what it is you are proposing we 'not do'. Second Life is a very diverse community and tolerance for one another's desires and interests in game make it a nicer place to be. I hate it when folks call one another names (personally prefers sex workers to whores tyvm) in forum or otherwise. People are all just meeting their needs the best way they know how. I am a events host and sensual performance artist in game. Event terrorism meant that my poet's open mic got started half an hour late and with the jovial mindframe of the event stripped (though I did endeavour to re-inject it the way one takes vitamins when one is afraid of catching cold, but as in the case of vitamins, it is never quite as easily digested) my love of doing it also flagged. I think that I'd just as soon not be attacked by flaming crosses and smoke bombs borne by kkk-inspired fashion victims. But hey, maybe that's just me. Those of you who don't enjoy the dance floors or events programming currently available in second life might prefer to invite some griefers / terrorists over and have target practice or something! problem solved all round. *dusts off hands*

You misunderstand me im not talking about the same ones as in the other threads so dont tell me whats bullshit. From what i understand what the device was doing was scanning people around it and sending/logging the names and then the other club owners would ban all the people that came to paradise.. it was like a "if you go to paradise you wont get into any other clubs deal".
