Is there a concerted effort by club owners against other clubs?

From: Travis Lambert Cristiano - You're putting me in a pretty awful position. I agree with you, the concept of declaring "war" on rival clubs in stupid. But how the heck am I supposed to dispel that short of pasting a blow by blow of what was said at the meeting? I know you wern't there, but I really, really, really wish you were. If you were, I think you'd understand how incredibly silly all of this is.
If you'd like to PM me in game, I'd be happy to talk to you about it. But please don't put me in the position of playing a he said/she said game in the public forums. I feel like you're saying that if I don't give a public blow by blow of what was said in a private meeting, I'm being deceitful. I'm trying to be honorable here, and from my vantage point, I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.
All I wanted to do was try & do something about grief.
Travis Travis, for the record, you were the person Tony Tigereye was referring to as not being involved with any of this. I didn't expect you to post a blow by blow - but by saying that the drama was private, instead of just saying "it was a meeting about handling griefers, not about griefing", it would have solved it. It's not a damned if you do, damned if you don't thing - it was an evasive answer that clarified nothing. You were not the only person from that meeting to characterize it as drama, btw. I did not call you deceitful in the slightest. As Marilyn Murphy pointed out, several of the people at that meeting are known for that very thing. I recognize your trying to be honorable, but if there is nothing bad going on at all, what is to hide? There are a lot of sources of griefing right now - if anyone associated with any of these clubs is involved in that, then I hope they get nailed for it. You have nothing to worry about.

From: Marilyn Murphy well, cris....
u know, a war between the clubs is an interesting thought, and i know that it has occured, i see two people representing two clubs in that picture i know for a fact were into a griefing thing with each other.
however, a major club can piss off factions not involving other clubs. some for instances.
an ex-gf of somebodies goes to work at a club, and he/she dont like it.
a 14 yr old with mommies credit card sees a large group of people together in one sim.
land owners in the clubs sim, do i need to explain this one cris?
i swear i knew a club owner(does not currently run one) that enjoyed pissing people off and war.
an immature individual is banned from a club and vows revenge.
just some alternative suggestions regarding the club griefing that do not involve some group effort on the part of club owners.
marilyn Marilyn, Always nice to see you in the forums I agree, there are many sources of the griefing going on - it has just escalated to a ridiculous level - it cannot all be random or just sour grapes revenge going on. Too much money is at stake.

From: Cristiano Midnight It is my understanding that the Second Life Herald (hardly a favorite site of mine, but they usually have a handle on this stuff) is going to write about the topic. We (the Herald) wrote about this almost two weeks ago here. While the speculations by a source as to one alleged griefer's identity seem to have been not quite accurate (though close), we did have early word of the recent inter-club strife, as well as early word of peace-loving clubs banding together against such efforts: "Fortunately for the continued peace of Second Life, however, it seems that whoever was behind the efforts to drive a wedge between the two clubs has only succeeded in drawing them closer together. Not *all* the drama in Second Life is tragedy." We're not universally well loved, but we are out there reporting this stuff. If you read the piece, I think you'll find that it is/was a useful story, posted in the spirit of journalists who like to break news and try to give their readers an idea of what's coming down the pike. We certainly don't condone griefing nor do we try to encourage it. There's plenty of stuff for us to report on--we hardly have a need for more griefers to provide us with more stories of more global attacks (which are, quite frankly, boring).

From: Artillo Fredericks Yeah, I've heard that Booty Call has been attacked several times as well. Yeah, well, that movie did REALLY suck. And I like bad movies. Its wasn't even so good it was bad, like the TV show Homeboys in Outerspace, Kevin Costner's The Postman, or the Steve Harvey/Lil' Kim vehicle, "You Got Served". /me pictures Philip, Cory and Andrew breakdancing in the new release, "You Got Server." -Flip

So far my little club, Ra, has stayed pretty much lag and griefer free. All that stopped last night, however, when someone came along with two different scripts. One was a bong that blew smoke everywhere thus lagging some people to the point of being kicked off and another script called "Lain is God".
I have since disallowed outside scripts so we'll see what happens. If this continues, however, it looks like clubs are going to have to add "security" to the list of must haves right up there with dancers and hosts.

Whatever happened to the BAN feature on land? Why can't you just ban the greifers that do that to your club/land/etc?

Eddie Because banning people from your land doesnt keep people from filing a shit load of fake ass abuse reports and sending in email complaints.

Eddie Unfortunately, the ban tools are woefully ineffective and stopping griefing because of the height restriction, and the fact that someone can just grief you from an adjacent parcel.

Talk about a picture worth a thousand "Rumors". I haven't seen it but, I hope my hair was brushed. LOL Honestly spent most the time in IMs. Big suprise there. Jenna invited me and I wasn't sure why or what to. I do however think its all been blown WAY outta context here. Tis SL for ya. I agree 100% with Cristiano, its all silly realy. If you have to resort to this kind of behavior to become popular your not very convindent in your abilities to market your product. As we have all seen in the past Clubs come and go. Some buy there way to the top and others just have fun. Personaly I just wanna have fun. Kinda hope this all blows over soon. Not worth any of are time.

Its one sided. People are getting dirty. Linden Labs really needs to do something about this.. its really not cool to be worried about getting banned because what you have is going to take the number 1 dwell spot from someone.
