Consistent Message: SL is/isn't a game

You're being uncharitable, Nolan. Why, I just flew through a dozen sims, all of them stricken by grief, having learned that SL isn't a game. They were just idling there, miserable, gibbering about their lost game. Obviously it IS the entire player base.

Nobody suggested you cannot use the word game, or make SL a game unto yourself.

Lindens have made a marketing decision. From what I see, it's working quite well. Subscribership is on the rise and the world expands. Why should you be losing sleep over a stupid word thats absent from a marketing strategy? Alienation? I don't think so.

Aligning yourself with so-called victims of a LL decision, who might be disappointed because they came here expecting a game, frankly is preposterous.

People are entitled to listen to what I have to say, or to dismiss it. Likewise, I don't make a BFD when someone does. I don't feel the need to be the victim of what I, or others say.

I've reported Enabran, and if much more of this carries on, I will report others who are doing it.

Here is what the TOS says:

"Be respectful. Please challenge opinions, state your own and enjoy the discussion, but do not cross the line into personal attacks and insults because you will risk having your Second Life account suspended or banned."

And that is what I expect from you as well. Your comments about me have crossed this line and amount to defamation of character, and I've had it with it. That is, several of you have.

If you can't stick to the ideas involved, then expect to find yourself reported every time from now on.

Just because a person thinks the insult he is delivering is the "truth" and the character assassination is deserved doesn't mean it is allowed under the TOS.

I really wish you'd make good on this threat already. You've been promising to do so for God knows how long.

If you don't want your suffering and martyrdom to be a topic of discussion, don't bring it up in every single thread. Plain and simple. Otherwise, don't be surprised if someone calls you out for boring them to death with the same topics over and over.

I gave an example of how I too was spoken down to when I first got on the forums and called this game a game, which was germaine to the topic, and merely a sentence or two in a lengthy post. I mentioned how that turned me off, but didn't RUN me off, as such an onslaught might have done to other players, and apparently DID to someone in a welcome spot..

You respond by taking the opportunity to portray me with this suffering and martyrdom crap which is an incessant and gratuitous assassination of character and I am sick of it. I expect the Lindens to protect me from this kind of harrassment from you. I've put up with it for quite a while now, and brushed off most of it, but now it is time for it to end.

I can include a sentence in one of my posts about what I have experienced without you getting carte blanche to characterize me as a suffering martyr.

I can write my posts on here without having you come around with drawings to make fun of me.

I have every right to be on here as you do. And just as every other player, I have the right to be on here without constantly suffering the derision, insults, and character assassination from you.

I won't put up with it; I want it to stop; and I expect it to stop.

I'll be happy to make good on the threat to you inworld to give you a few truths of my own, but not on these boards.

When, some time ago, I contacted you in world with the idea that we might get to know each other and if we didn't become friends, you could at least come to understand me as the reasonable and friendly human that I am, and we could reach some kind of rapport, or at least an understanding. But you said you thought maybe you disliked the "coy Coco" more than the one on the forums. So I dropped it.

Now that's fine. I really don't care. It's your loss, and your blindness.

But what I DO care about is that you stop harrassing me on these forums. If you find what I am saying boring, then just don't comment. But quit with the gratuitious insults, personal attacks, and character assassinations.
