A colony of pan-dimensional super-beings, who exist in infinite dimensions simulataneously, live in my left shoe, where they convert foot odor into pixie dust while reciting multiplication tables in pig latin. Everything is made from stardust, even scheisse. _____________________

That's two out-loud laughs (OLLs) that you've gotten out of me in a row in less than a minute. ![]() ~Ulrika~ I am the duplicitous source of trickle-down inspiration for budding novelists with writer's block worldwide. One day I'll release a distilled solution of the stuff into the biosphere and everyone will be singing the same tune, "Da Da Da Da Da Da." And then it will all be a riot. _____________________

Let's just jump ahead a few steps:
Party one: "I don't exist!" Party two: "Well, I do!" Party one: "Prove it!" I'm sorry to hear you don't really exist. _____________________

"People identify themselves almost exclusively with their consciousness and imagine they are only what they know about themselves.
How limited this knowledge is. Rationalism and doctrinairism are the diseases of our time; they pretend to have all the answers. But a great deal will yet be discovered which our present limited view would have ruled out as impossible." - Carl Jung "We all have some psi powers - We just don't realise it" - Dr Karlis Osis |

Although my crazy Chinese mechanic once figured out that my fuel pump wasn't working by attacking my car with a giant rubber mallet (Not kidding). The vibrations caused by the mallet tricked the computer into thinking the fuel pump worked and allowed the car to start for a few seconds. Car accupressure, while not highly regarded in the West, has come a long way toward acceptance. This was obviously a case of stimulating the combustion chakra, which freed up the energies allowing the car's continued well-being. This is clear, reproducible evidence of the Higher Path in auto repair. Dismiss at your own risk. |

Rationalism and doctrinairism are the diseases of our time; they pretend to have all the answers. Not true at all. Rationism is all about NOT pretending to have all the answers. Rationalisits will say "I don't know" rather than leap to a mythological, supernatural explanation. Jung was a brilliant man, but he was talking out of his ass with that one. _____________________

Let's just jump ahead a few steps: Party one: "I don't exist!" Party two: "Well, I do!" Party one: "Prove it!" I'm sorry to hear you don't really exist. Considering party one can be observed and measured repeatedly he can be proven to a reasonable standard of proof to exist, despite his irrational and unprovable assertion. Also, there's a tad bit of a difference between proving a positive and proving a negative. The first is the basis for all rational knowledge. The second is flat out impossible. Hence, this is a rather silly anecdote. In the immortal words of Thomas Dolby, "Science!" _____________________

Personally, I think relying solely on our physical senses to learn about our existance is to limit ourselves to a box. It beats relying on a 2000 year old book written by men who thought the sky was an upside down metal bowl with holes cut in it to allow the water to come through. ![]() _____________________

Do you believe proof of ghosts would automatically indicate there is, in fact, a real God? |

Car accupressure I read somewhere that Arthur Fonzarelli was one of the fore-most authorities on mechanical accupressure. His precision percussion and monosyllabic mantra “Aaaayh!” are said to clear the stagnated chi out of almost any device. -Ghoti _____________________

Chip, what does it have to do with the Bible(which is older than 2000 years btw, counting the old testament)? Do you believe proof of ghosts would automatically indicate there is, in fact, a real God? I believe that ghosts and religion are two parts of the same thing... manifestations of the universal human desire to cheat death and resultant myths. Find me a life after death belief from anywhere in the world at any time in history that is seperate from that culture's religious belief system, or a throwback to another culture's religious belief system. I doubt there is one. _____________________

Just because you can't prove a negative apparently doesn't keep you from asserting it, over and over and over...
I try not to get too worked up over it, but sometimes it's hard. Any time these things get mentioned, someone always has to stand up and vehemently deny that they are even possible. If I persist they sometimes even get panicky about the whole thing. _____________________

I try not to get too worked up over it, but sometimes it's hard. Any time these things get mentioned, someone always has to stand up and vehemently deny that they are even possible. If I persist they sometimes even get panicky about the whole thing. I make no claims about impossibility. I simply think it's silly to go from not having an explanation for something to asserting a supernatural cause without any evidence to justify making that leap. It's wishful thinking, not rationalism, and when it comes to supernatural claims the burden of proof lies on the claimant, not the skeptic. I'm not claiming that ghosts don't exists, I'm claiming that none of you have sufficient evidentiary justification to believe that they do unless you're engaging in relativism. If you're not then you must profess belief in every other idea that meets the same standard of evidence (which is pretty much everything that can be imagined). There's a big difference between the nature of my assertion and yours (not the least of which is that mine happens to be true). ![]() _____________________
