This is not an unfriendly comment, btw. It didn't strike me as the right thing to do, but I may have missed something. As for Cienna Samiam, I thought she was gone. She created a performance out of it in another thread about changes in the ToS, and I took her seriously. Or is she planning a come-back off-Broadway before hitting the Big Apple again?  Cienna and the others involved are usually wickedly creative people, or creatively wicked, depending on the circumstances. What happened in that thread was just plain wrong. Something else was going on there. Hate to see silence replace the repartee, though. Can't we all barb, duck, joust, skewer, and love at the same time? To be honest, I am a bit unsure why Cris linked it too, Seth. Closing down a thread and then linking to it doesn't make the best sense to me, but then who am I to talk about sense? I've done some pretty non-sensical things in my tenure here.

I'm not sure what you mean by "something else", but I know *I* didn't have anything other than being supremely POed with a few people. There was a lot said to me in PM that wasn't called for and I just had enough.

The "unfriendly" comment I made was directed toward Cristiano. I might disagree with his decision to link, but I wanted to ask him about it and didn't want him to think that this was just another flame.
The "something else was going on here" comment came from something Chip Midnight said in another thread that got me thinking. He said that the SL landscape is littered with unexploded mines - agendas, old hurts, etc., that new people or "less-traveled" people know nothing about. Fair enough. So now I wonder when I see something like what happened on the SLU thread.

It is a valid question, actually. I was not offended by it. In the context of this thread, I thought it was a great example of what can happen if this is all left unchecked. Granted, I probably should have put a warning on it. I think it illustrates in a painful way how out of control these silly forum disagreements can get. There is so much pent up animosity, and the main question is why? What is accomplished by going back and forth like that ad naseum? Many of us, myself included, are guilty of the verbal game of back and forth and one upmanship, though I have never seen anything get that out of hand. Arguing, disagreeing, even silly name calling and sarcastic quips are one thing - trying to annihilate each other verbally is something else. Ultimately, I linked to it for some introspection, though I think those who most need to see it won't get much from it. It's not even about Nolan and Dogspot (or Cienna). They just let their anger get the best of them. It's about what these forums are doing to people. Is it worth it?
