Hi there, semi ex- EVe-Online player.
I have 2 accounts in Eve, Sonisha & Julliette both are about 2 years old (old timer) and over 25million in skills, mainly manufacturers, and only 2 wars it that time, lol, used to love the game, but dislike the tech 2 processes for gathering components and blue prints. currently sat on 1.6 billion as CEO, and lost track of how many goodies. both in Battleships to Level 5, (Minmatar & Gallente) and there respective races weapons, can be a nasty mix, but not in the game for fighting (well not much anyway, lol) would reccomend Eve, but expect time to get especially qualified. Rule Number One, join a corp, get help, best wishes |

I am interested in trying it but my question is do you or can you play and interact with others? From what I have read, it looks like a soloing game where you spend your time alone. If I do sign up, I'd love to be part of an SL guild, group or whatever it is called there so please post here if that has been done, how it works, what we can do together etc...  Oh, any help that you who have this game figured out can give a noob about life paths, skill sets, races, things a noob should buy, upgrades to ships that should be done first or whatever that are better for whatever reason than others would be very helpfull.  Since this post was summarily ignored the first time I posted it in this thread, I thought I’d post it again… hehe _____________________

I loved the game and completed the tutorial, but i got bored and depressed cuz i was lonely, i felt like nuffin to do cuz there were no apparent quests, or random gathering places to hang out. Personally i wish you could get outta da ship and just visit planets. Sadly minning was no fun, it took hours just to do simple tasks....Other then that its not so bad, i might go back if i had a guild or something keep me going in it. But i think i;'ll just restart all over again since i forgot how to work stuff hehe ^^ Pypo, there are quests of a sort. You just have to find them, and they tend to be crap if you're new. They range from pizza delivery to killing pirates to one-on-one duals with pirate kings... and base invasions and so on. Also, there's mining, which can be boring, but less so if you do it in a group. The trick is to have at least one ship with heavy defence/offence, a hauler or two, and the rest mining. It can also be rather profitable in the right system. _____________________

i've downloaded the client, read some info, watched a couple of in-game vids and... it looks incredible! BUT.. i'm already paying for SL and CoH.. so, now i'm trying to decide if i should give EVE a try. any SLers out there play this game? what can you tell me about it? is it neigh impossible to navigate this game? (some of those screens looked pretty detailed with loads of information) basically, what do i not know that i should? i'd be very interested to hear any info anyone can offer. good, bad, neutral.. just the most robust over-all mental picture i can possibly get of this game. thanks in advance. Didn't read the rest of the thread, but I played EVE as a pirate named Corvus Dove for about 3 years. I suppose it's a decent game, but compared to how it used to be, it sucks now. Of course, I find an issue where a battleship can be fitted with mining lasers and still take out another battleship fitted with missiles. Piracy died, inflation skyrocketed, players refused to leave "safe" space and threatened to quit the game if CCP changed the game so they'd have to, and now any noob can strap into an ubership and then...mine for hours with it. Sad state of affairs, and a story of what happens when you listen to carebears/whiners once; you get stuck doing it forever. |
