Boycot the spam farms and the ads on them. Ban the spamers from your land. Look for the clocktower network for a blacklist to put on you land that is grid wide.

Now that you've uttered a demonstrably false claim, I think it's time to point out that every MMO game or community out there HAS experienced problems like this. Most recently, WoW experienced massive login and server problems. Before that, it was EQ. Before that, it was DSL. Before that, it was Drug Wars on the local BBS. When demand in a game outstrips the resources available, logins become frustrated. Growing pains are common to nearly all online games.

Even with the most recent outages, my conservative estimate puts the SL uptime in excess of 95%. If this is unacceptable, then I suggest that you start paying the appropriate costs for bulletproof service.

They pay you to act as a advocate? Or are you just a happy camper?

Actually i have a roomie that plays evercrack, they haven't had massive login problems in over 60 days. SL can't go more than 20 days without this happening. There's a problem here.

...I'd rather have some (albeit irritating) technical issues with a game that I really enjoy playing than easily being able to log into a crappy game (like TSO) that bores the hell out of me. I figured this was an error from the suddenness of it; no need to call for the Lindens' firstborn. The PTB that make SL like money, so I doubt they're happy when things like this come up; never understood the conspiracy theories about things like this. Then again, I also know after having played so many MMORPGs that no group is so passionate or paranoid as online gamers.

It'll get fixed, always does, and then we can all go back to not writing dozens of vehement thank you posts when it does...

Nope. I was actually in the middle of working on a build. I logged out to enable local lighting, and was rather disappointed to discover that I couldn't log back in. However, I try to be pragmatic about most things.

My guess is that the database is full of gig upon gig of corrupted data, and they can't do anything about it unless they want to wipe out 60% of the content in the game. Our inventories are already pockets with a hole at the bottom from the database errors, but the last thing I'd want is to accelerate that process.. I already lost my tuxedo top last week, just boom vanished, not misplaced just gone.
