From: Dragon Steele Then Why don't you all just leave if it sucks on sl so much You can always play TSO or may be even there.
This was not directed at any one person just in general. Mmmmmmmm, TSO.... I'm a refugee. I bailed when they implemented roaches. I'll deal with the SL bugs, so long as they're not crawling on everything... *grins*

little more info maybe?

We are currently performing routine system maintenance. The Second Life grid and portions of the Second Life web site are currently unavailable. We expect to have service restored to the grid by 12PM PST.
If you continue to receive this page send email to webmaster@secondlife.com.
HMM.... 12pm when? Tomorow, next week, yesterday? When I read this I had no way of knowing if they meant this was happening right now UNTIL tomorow or if I was seeing it in error. And if its "routine system maintenance" ... where was the announcement?

Thi slog in issue is getting past the point of insane. Also for someone to say "paly something else" thats just immature, if we wanted to play something else we wouldn't complain or be upset that the SL log in issues are frickin irritating

Of course they won't tell us that they "intentionally screwed up the system so no one can login" they just issue a "patch" or "update" to fix whatever problem they made when editing the SL system.
This is the 5th time that the login system's gotten screwed up on me, and i've been here since new years, and every time this happens, they issue a patch or fix that says it'll "fix the login problems" but they never tell us WHAT THEY DID THAT MESSED IT UP! OR WHY!
Sorry but i'm really Freakin pissed off about this, i paid good money for this stupid game and i can't even use this. At least Evercrack hasn't ever had login problems like this. Maybe i should just go play there and give all my money to Sony. At least THEY know how to keep an online game system functional for more than a month.

It's nice to know my $10 a month is being well spent on "Login Failed: The Game", which of course is the sequal to LL's smash hit "Attempting to Log In".

Jeeze... will everybody clam down? There is a new message, says login is closed to everyone except employees at the moment. They will have it back up soon, I'm sure. I just find it hilarious that everyone sees 20 posts already saying there is a problem, but still feel they have to complain too... Like Lindens won't see the first 20 posts, but they will see yours, LOL

i agree. The message was very unclear. They need someone who can write with better communication skills.

Salutations!
I'm here to let you know: this is NOT maintenance, and there was a system error that is working on being corrected this very moment. I got kicked out myself, so you can imagine how badly I feel about it.
Please hang tight and we will update you with further news as it comes.

At least THEY know how to keep an online game system functional for more than a month. Now that you've uttered a demonstrably false claim, I think it's time to point out that every MMO game or community out there HAS experienced problems like this. Most recently, WoW experienced massive login and server problems. Before that, it was EQ. Before that, it was DSL. Before that, it was Drug Wars on the local BBS. When demand in a game outstrips the resources available, logins become frustrated. Growing pains are common to nearly all online games. Even with the most recent outages, my conservative estimate puts the SL uptime in excess of 95%. If this is unacceptable, then I suggest that you start paying the appropriate costs for bulletproof service.
