And, Yes! I hope Linden Lab follows through with law enforcement and charges are filed.
When I log in to my account I am at work. People like myself, we lease what is essentially office space from Linden Lab, we work in our leased space to make money, it is a business expense, we claim it on our taxes, etc.
So here we have - mid project on a most productive evening - some vandal who essentially kills power to our workspace.
Out here in the atomic world deliberate actions like these would have those responsible arrested and in the poke.
And any of you who still think this is a "game" - take a look at the weekly currency numbers and currency trader tier amounts. Its not a game, it is an interface where some of us work to make money and the things the rest of you value to enhance your online experience. While I agree completely, downtime is downtime and cant do much about it. SL isn't a game it's an infrastructure. While it is possible to log into SL and play games or other recreational activities it is also possible to log in and work. I don't see any difference in the deliberate crashing of SL and a denial of sevice attack on an ISP. when it all boils down, SL is really a high octane version of the internet albeit a smaller one... but growing fast. |

If you have suffered financial losses I would imagine you can start by filling charges then getting a subpoena demanding LL release the RL names of those they have found responsible. Its these times that really causes harm to the game and people. Most of us that play/work on sl are nice people. Its the ones that want to draw attention to themselves tht say I can cause a outage in the game I am so great.........well maybe but if your trying to ask Llabs for a job are a problems solver/grid monkey and your that good to produce problems for all of us careing people. The I say get..........well is there a term for you?
