There are no pictures, when the item is rezed (it's 100 prims linked) it flies up to about 500m, and it says it's cords. Then if you get on a prim and go to 500m, it spams you trying to give you an item named "a" (luckly I think mine was broke, so it just spammed the chat). I'd bet that it was trying give me over a 10k items a second.

And this just days after object-to-object transfers were re-enabled?

I'm sorry, but *IF* (emphasized so that noone responds with "we don't know yet";) this is really a purposeful attack it IS time for legal action no matter what the cost.

The only way SL is going to be a viable workplace for RL business is if these kinds of attacks are viewed NO differently than RL arson or vandalism.

Quite simply, this is no longer a game, the perpetrators are almost certainly adults and should simply spend some time in jail.

<11/10/05 - Second Life Down Until Further Notice
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have just kicked everyone off of the grid due to a system-wide problem, possibly due to Resident action. Thank you for your patience, we are working on the problem and will post updates as they are available.>

So is this another resident made griefer and responsible for the downtime?

I can see this will become a frequent issue. Just like those morons who sit around making viruses (and you are probably aware many of these are teenagers) what a kick they must get out of it. I am pretty much uneducated, programming-wise. I'm wondering, what kind of things can be done to decrease the problem? Or do we just have maybe a leeeeeeeeeeetle too much creative freedom in there? (ducks in case of any thrown objects)

I hope someone got the name of who sent it to them (DON'T POST IT). Because they could take a Linden created object, and a Linden created script and just edit them, so you can't tell who created it..

I don't either. On several occasions I've received objects out of the blue while flying over a sim.... I always delete them right away.

actually that's kinda sneaky, since O2O was only transferring on owner's land, let the owners rez it. I guess it changed back though... even if it wasn't changed back it wouldn't matter since owners were rezzing them probably on their land.

It really pays to have a section of your land (just a 16sqm) set to no scripts. I reccomend people take a precaution like this. a bit of common sense would go a long way. It's like a personal firewall, not failsafe, but not bareback either.

I got this too.

Name was *edited* , if I recall rightly; I sent them my traditional "world's smallest cat saying 'whiskey tango foxtrot?'" response to random objects drops, and thought nothing more of it since I deleted it straightaway.
