Your supposed version that contains what "actually" happened fails to address the fact that Ambyance's incredibly nasty post dragged Torrid into this for absolutely no reason whatsoever and nailed her to the wall. This was about Mistress, but half of Ambyance's post focused on things that happened in the past with Torrid, some of it several YEARS ago,the rest long settled months ago. Additionally, NONE of the content involved is Ambyance's. Why wouldn't ambyance tell the truth about what Torrid did? It happened & she has a right to tell people about it. Especialy since Torrid had just written in her blog how sorry she was w/out syaing what she did. You say she's slinging torrid's name through the mud by telling people she ripped off & modded a skin? Cos she actualy did it. Ambyance didn't lie. & knowing that Torrid did this once before applies to this because we know she has a history of ripping off textures. it applies 100% to this case. Mistress' mistake was in lying when she was confronted about the altered skin. She admits that and apologized. She deserves to take some heat for that, but people make mistakes. Have you never lied? However, to throw around the word theft is ridiculous. Nothing was stolen. She paid for the copy of the texture that she has. You may not like that she altered it, but the fact that you are acting like this is on the same level of the people actually stealing and reselling textures is the main problem. She ripped 3 skins & molded them together & I never saw her say that she BOUGHT all 3 of them maybe I missed it. Either way based on how she's been defending ripping textures I won'tbelieve it till I see the sales report. Do you know for a fact that she bought the skins? Cos if you do great lmk. This all should have been a completely private matter, and none of it should have involved Torrid, as this was settled months ago. I hope all involved are satisfied - you have driven an incredibly talented, sensitive, and dedicated person out of Second Life, over a bunch of pointless bitchfest drama. All this talk about losing respect- mine has never been stronger for Torrid and for Mistress. Great well complain to mistress who started it all by blogging it. & quit accusing people who didn't do anything till mistress started her blog-war for driving torrid away". None of these people wished torrid any harm & youy accusing them of doing that doesn't make u look that unbiased to me. _____________________

I didn't claim anyone wished her harm, other than the spineless fucktards hiding behind anonymous blog posts and threatening ims. I think Starley especially handled things pretty gracefully. I am angry about Ambyance's dragging of Torrid into all of this over long settled issues. _____________________

I urge readers of these blogs to take what they read with a grain of salt. Or better yet, don't read them at all. Oh, I want to read them all! Because after blowing a fuse or two about all the SL bullshit, I can decide very quick where not to shop anymore. And I don't want to recommend those businesses to my friends either!  I just learned about this whole Midnight "theft" drama-o-rama. I'm still trying to find my dropped jaw under the desk. What a fucking kindergarden! I sure hope Torrid comes back! BTW where can I find the name of that fucktard who wished that Torrid should've died? |

Thank you for your interest in my blog entry. I did try to explain every detail as I saw it, and I made every effort to link alternative opinions as I found them, including the Naughty blog (which provides a one-sided rendition of this story that you seem comfortable with.) Your side of the story posted at Lo Jacob's PixelPinup is a welcome addition and I'm glad you posted it here, despite Lo's Keystone cop suggestion for us all to "move along, nothing more to see here, move along..." in this very thread. As for covering Torrid's ass ... while all the world should be infatuated with the callipygian designer, I think it would be unfair to write off my interpretation of these events based on what you THINK is my relationship with Torrid. Canimal, as somebody who just urged me to take a class in journalism, you should know the severity in accusations of Slander or Libel. Please copy and paste here the example of libel from my blog so I can remove it post-haste. please let me make things clear. i dont wish torrid any harm, i dont wish mis any harm. I think torrid apologizing & saying shell never do it again was very noable. I dont have any beef w/ her & dont want her to leave sl. Mis i think should not advocate ripping textures, she apologized but i see no reason to advocate it anywhere. But that's just my opinion. & last, I resent amby lost & starley's names being dragged trhough the mud. because they didnt ask for their textures to be ripped. So i just wish this entire drama would go away. I don't think i'm alone in wishing that.
It's up to starley lost & amby to decide if they forgive mis & torrid not me or anyone else. I just started all these comments & my blog because I could not stand seeing people accusing others of something they didn't do to protect their friends, & flaming this drama even further by suggesting such horrible things. There is a war going on by Ambyance2 Anubis, Lost Thereian, and Starley Thereian against Mistress Midnight and Torrid Midnight. Nothing I've seen from Starley would at all qualify as a 'war' against anyone, she expressed regret and ducked out quick. Combined with: SL Fashion War is a venomous surgical strike against somebody with a sensitive and caring disposition timed perfectly with their recovery from major surgery. It's a plan that can go a long way to bolster the grand opening of a business project with calculated results in the "devastating" category. Take out the enemy, promote the business. Checkmate. Would you start holding things against Starley if you read that and saw her name mentioned in the same list? I'd call that pretty irresponsible, sure. |

She posted extensively about Torrid, who had nothing at all to do with the situation at hand, which was a conflict between Mistress and Starley and Lost (again, with no involvement of Ambyance). _____________________

You know, as an impartial and completely unbiased individual (as I don't know either person in question, nor do I have any products which compete with either)..... I've read both blogs of the perspective parties.
And dropping the drama, theatrics, useless information, and basing my opinion solely on usable information provided. Party 1, ripped textures from another designer from which they purchased to modify for personal use. At worst, that's sneaky. Party 2, admitted to photosourcing photos from someone else's work without permission to modify and resell for commercial profit. At worst, that's copyright infringement. |

Also, I hate to get into silly semantics but just to put the libel thing to rest... A good resource on libel can be found here: http://www.medialaw.org/Content/NavigationMenu/Public_Resources/Libel_FAQs/Libel_FAQs.htm The part folks should read is this one: "The statement(s) alleged to be defamatory must also be a false statement of fact. That which is name-calling, hyperbole, or, however characterized, cannot be proven true or false, cannot be the subject of a libel or slander claim." So yes. My use of the term "war" was hyperbole to describe a disagreement. No artillery was deployed. No bunkers were bombed. Cristiano and I both opined about motives behind the timing of this mess, but motives cannot be proven true or false. I'm sure there will be some nits to pick on this subject. Mostly from non-laywers. But if what I blogged was libel then we can say goodbye to 90% of the world's blogs. _____________________
