one time I had these real powerful dual wield pistols out in a combat sim, well I forgot to put them back in the holsters and I TP to a club, I walk in and everyone stares at me, the owner walks up to me and tells me to put them away, I do so and there now in the holsters on my sides, he then bans me saying "I told you to put those things away!"
wtf was his problem? all I did was forgot to put my guns away then I did so and he got pissed because they were still kind of revealed!
are guns really that hated? its not like i'm gonna go on a killing spree throughout the entire club! and besides, nobody can die on the sim!

discuss Becuase .. UM ... people with guns shoot other people. People who insist on wearing them visibly give the impression they are ready to use them. Do you wear your guns in RL clubs?

Do you wear your guns in RL clubs? I have a CCW permit, I wear my gun in a holster in reallife. In Second Life same thing.

It isn't the Guns that are Hated, It's the Cerebral Pygmies who can't resist Blazing away with them everywhere they go that are Hated

for alot of people guns represent violence - who wants that in their club. also, its sad "fact" but guns = griefers.

Sigh, it's because the left-wing liberal conspiracy in this country permeates through the Internet, invented by Al Gore, A LIBERAL, to infringe upon the God Given right of God-Fearing citizens of SL to keep and bear arms. This conspiracy, played out through the Liberal Media Pussification And Whining Cabal taints the minds of right-thinking citizens everywhere. Even HERE.
Happy?

Happy? what about the Club owner's right to have people appear unwarmed in their club. What part of "the club doesnt belong to the Original Poster" is confusing.

From: Bane Catron I walk in and everyone stares at me, the owner walks up to me and tells me to put them away How could you tell everyone was staring at you? General rule of SL, real simple. Combat sim = guns cool Noncombat sim = no guns That means not in holsters, not showing at all. From: Pilman Karski I have a CCW permit, I wear my gun in a holster in reallife. In Second Life same thing.
To the library? The local school? The bar next door? You wear it everywhere you go with your weapon in plain sight and no one minds?

Not to play devil's advocate... but I think people wearing non-attacking (nonscripted) weapons of fashion shouldn't be prejudged as griefers.
example: In RL, in Baltimore, they held the anime festival this weekend. People in the convention, and all over the streets were wearing holstered guns, lasers, swords, etc

It's at the owner's discretion to decide who can enter their privately-owned club or not.

Try to imagine some guy walking into a shopping mall with a gun on each hip. Even if they were fake, since others can't be sure, he'd still be making a whole lot of people very nervous and security would be on it's way to him.

Anime con weapon-prop rules are generally very strict. I'd actually be surprised if they WERE allowed to have gun-like weapons. Sure as hell couldn't have at Katsucon in DC. But that's the lieberal inflence denying REAL citizens their Constitutional right to keep and bear a middling plastic facimilie of Vash the Stampede's revolver to defend against the terrorists and criminals coming in from P-G county. Where's YOUR ribbon? /Sigh, was supposed to have gone to Otakon

(again, not to play devils advocate).... RL and SL weapons are not the same.... basically, an SL weapon is like a toy RL weapon.... It's as if someone walked into a mall with an obviously fake plastic gun that flashes lights when you shoot it and everyone gets freaked out.... My point is, in SL, why not judge the weapon wielder only when they use it?
Sure, no one walks into a RL club with guns.... and no one walks into a RL club as a raccoon....or resembling Voltron.... or with a huge circle of multicolor lights flashing around them....

Doubledown, because it's disruptive and disruptions are bad for business.
Plus I'm not sure that I want to dance with a wanker who confuses his rifle and his gun, if you know what I'm saying.

I forget Also... the question is, which is worse for business? allowing someone with a weapon, and perhaps getting people nervous? or the owner prejudging, banning, and then the banee spreads the word on the forums?

Difference is that the raccoon and Voltron are there to socialize whereas so many who brought in guns create trouble. If you're someone who just totes guns for the look and either these guns are non-functional or are functional but you won't use them you have to put this in mind: There were other gun toters who have caused uncounted amount of trouble. The fix that you're in is because of them and not the club owners. Should a club owner risk trouble or should he ban guns? The answer to this is very simple. If a club owner declares "no guns" then the customer has to put them away otherwise the club owner has the right to refuse entry. Restaurants in real life have signs like "no smoking," "no shorts," "no pets," "no cellphones," "no guns." If you don't comply, don't expect to be allowed in. In SL if a club says "no guns," you put them away (it's just a "detach" command away). If I had guns on me and the club owner says "no guns?" I'll excuse myself, step outside the club so that I have all the time to get the guns off while the club owner is not staring at me impatiently. I'll take the guns off and check if there's anything else that might violate club dress code. Only after I am certain I'm in compliance will I step back in. @OP Permit to carry iRL does not carry over to SL. Here, if a club owner says "no guns" you take them off. There are no licenses in SL and none of our RL licenses have any efficacy here.
